Work Day & Date Night

I’m completely embarrassed to admit it, but THAT is what our dining room looked like this morning. I know, I know. I’m a trophy wife. All I do is stay at home all day. But I still couldn’t quite get to conquering this jungle on my own. Now, I’m not complaining. It’s a mix of leftover things from the wedding + GIFTS!!! Check out all those awesome Fiestaware boxes!! Woohoo!! Kevin James and I worked our tails off this morning! We totally organized and stored everything. It felt so good! While we were on a roll, we even cleaned the stove and the refrigerator! So much for Caturday!

AFTER! Sweet, right? If you look carefully, you can see my grinning little face in one the mirrors. Special!

For those of you who are following Boyd’s plight now that the evil stepmother has taken over, check out his new living quarters. He has been seriously downgraded from having his very own bedroom to this small space between the basement and the back door. Hahahahahaha.

My husband was EXTREMELY manly today. Check him out fixing the garbage disposal. I have a tendency to drop things down there, and I’m really scared it will chop off my arm. I probably have an unhealthy fear of garbage disposals. Also garage door openers. But we’re good with that one for now.

After all that work, we needed a date night! I needed a Sugar Free Vanilla Iced Coffee from McDonald’s for the road. It’s a long trip to LaCrosse!

While snapping photos of myself drinking the coffee, I realized I could sneak Kevin James into the photo. Sly. I was born to be a stalker!

He’s still clueless, and I’m still snapping. Either that, or he’s already learned to ignore me when I’m taking pictures with my iPhone out of sheer boredom. That was quick!

We started off our evening @ Panera Bread. You can see our lovely dinner over on the Newlywed Diet post for today. I really enjoyed relaxing and even SHARED a little bit of my Pick 2′s with Kevin James. That’s TRUE LOVE! Next up was Kohl’s!

I totally loved this rug! I felt like I would always have a little sunshine under my feet. We tried to buy it, but alas, it was not 60% off as the sign indicated. Bummer!

Somehow we also managed to leave these sassy pillows in the store! I have a soft spot for zebra print. In fact, I used to own zebra print PANTS in back in the 00′s. I wore them with an orange t-shirt that said “LOL.” (It was a gift from DEIDRE). I have a feeling zebra print is going to work itself into our future home decor! Be looking forward to that!

Don’t I just SCREAM little hostess with this tray? Love.

Oh my goodness. You know I’m getting one of these someday. I wanted one even before I liked cooking! I’m TOTALLY getting one when Kevin ups my allowance. Maybe if I start closing the refrigerator door…. and stop leaving random burners on for hours…

We had a lively ride home back to Winona. I always love riding in the car with my husband. My friends would say that means I’m really in love because I’m always super antsy and awful to be around during car rides! Unless we are listening to super good music. I don’t want our Saturday to end, but tomorrow’s going to be another excellent day. We have some great things planned, and my baby sister nerdy cake twins are coming to the spend the night! SLUMBER PARTY!!!!

I had to lust after my kitchen aid mixer for 2 years after getting married….and then came our 2nd anniversary that happened to coordinate with a killer sale at Kohls. I was so excited when Andy told me I could buy one! I absolutely LOVE it. And the fact that it’s fun and orange makes it that much better! Your day will come!

  2. :) Iced Coffee. I will jump at any chance to get an iced coffee when we’re out and about. I’m going to try this……

also….don’t feel bad…I am longing for the day when I can get a KitchenAid. I’m also guilty of leaving burners on in our house. haha.

@ Tonia – hahaha. Shockingly we haven’t returned a single gift! We were actually there to exchange one of the Fiesta bowls that was a little chipped. :)

Yep. Date night central. We’re enjoying every bit of it while we can!

Plus, when you are honeymooners and without kids isn’t EVERYTHING you do together like a date night?!
