One of Those Mornings…

Standard

I’m tired of naming things Newlywed Diet Number ___ … so I’ve upgraded to using more fascinating post titles like the one you see above.

I loosed the Boyd Monster on the girls this morning when I decided it was time for them to wake up. Doesn’t he look like a doll on the bottom right? Really, he was absolutely wild and licking them like crazy!!!!!!!

We woke up this morning to find that the refrigerator door had been left open. The food was actually WARM to the touch. Not just not cold. Warm. For once, I was not the culprit, but I shall leave her unnamed. That was not a pleasant start to our day. I had to send the husband out for milk for our breakfast cereal and replacement chicken for the lunch I had planned for Deidre Marie.

I had to eat my breakfast all by my lonesome this morning due to all the craziness, and I let the little girlies sleep in. Cascadian Farms Chocolate O’s x2 + apples. Deidre and I practiced making some homemade goldfish crackers for her son’s upcoming first birthday bash. We’re making them in a secret surprise fun shape. Really, it’s only a secret surprise because I didn’t get any great pictures. :)

This active guy kept us company while we “worked.”

I PROMISED YOU I WOULD EAT MORE VEGETABLES TODAY!!! And I did, yo. Continue reading

My Dream Wedding Gown… (in 2000)

Standard

Do you recognize this dress?

You may have seen it if you stayed in my bedroom AKA Josiah’s bedroom AKA Luke’s bedroom AKA the guest bedroom anytime between oh, say 1999-2003. This was my dream wedding gown! Although it may not look anything like the gown I ultimately chose, I still think it’s a gorgeous dress! I think I would’ve liked it if I had the opportunity to try it on. I really was hoping for something NOT strapless… Can you believe how insanely hard it is to find something not strapless? I uncovered this little gem in a tub of high school stuff my mom sent home with my new husband and me. Oh joy! The things I treasured in high school really make me think about what things actually have eternal value!

Do you remember this dress being taped to my bedroom door? Did you have a dream wedding gown when you were younger? Did it end up looking anything like your actual gown?

Serious Married Person

Standard

Yesterday Kevin James called me at around, oh say 4pm. The subject of his phone call?

“Honey, what would you like to pick up on the way home for dinner.”

I felt like such an old married little wife.

What actually ended up happening? He picked up everything we needed for our fabulous grilled meal – minus the baked beans. Kevin James and I can’t complete our awesome grilled dinners without baked beans so we went back off to he store. Together. We need some time away from “the kids.” And yeah, we ended up with THAT CART full of food. At least most of it looks pretty healthy, right? C’mon. Greek yogurt was 5/$4. :)

Here’s some cute/funny/interesting stuff I’ve been reading:

*The Eternal Shame of Your First Online Handle (via kottke) Mine? If I remember correctly, created at the Wabasha Public Library was camolimeissweet@hotmail.com
*My balance. A series this week on Cup of Jo regarding some pretty cool working mamas and HOW THEY DO IT. I don’t even have kids. Heck, I don’t even have a job. But I’d like to be able to juggle as much as these ladies do.
*Design*Sponge’s new book. That trailer got my seriously PUMPED for the book. I’m feeling an insane nesting urge now that I’m a serious married person (read above).
