Super Productive Saturday

After last week’s success with the Nutella Stuffed French Toast, I was excited to try another form of stuffed french toast. Meet the Maple Syrup + Bacon + Apple Stuffed French Toast combo!

Kevin loved it! I didn’t even try it. I’m not a huge maple syrup (right, Kristy??!) or bacon fan. Or French Toast for that matter! I’d rather have pancakes any day of the week! But I enjoy experimenting with various combinations so it’s fun to have a test monkey around. (Kevin verbally approved calling him a “test monkey). I got the idea by stealing Kevin’s Men’s Health magazine. They also suggested raspberries + cream cheese or nutella + bananas!

We’ve been having an incredibly productive Saturday. Boo! I wish it was more like a Caturday! Kevin worked away in the yard. I found it comical to see him hoeing. I wish he had been wearing his overalls! Just kidding. He doesn’t own overalls. Anymore…

Look at that nice pair of dirt flip-flops he ended up with! I worked in the house most of the day while continuously consciously avoiding eating those gingersnaps. They are so wonderfully soft and delicious!

Later on, I devised a new torture method for Boyd! I swear I don’t lie in bed at night and think of these ideas (but the dodgeball game was fun too). The only bad part was that he bested me at my own game by running circles around me to trip me with his leash! That at least gives me hope that there is something going on that little brain. Sometimes I wonder when he lets treats smack him between the eyes. :)

In the end, I PREVAILED. The Boykin scooted into the kennel to avoid further disturbance. I was really trying to do him a favor. He had been sitting in the sun (although he had TONS of shade available) and his fur was all hot!  We’re done with our Saturday chores, and Kevin James has begun on the homework. He has a big paper he’s working on this weekend. I have some birthday planning, blog improvements, and random job searching to do. We have a lot to do in the next two weeks before we move to Denver so we have to stay buckled down. I’m thankful our garage sale was a huge success so I don’t have to do any more heavy lifting to get rid of stuff. Yay!

Are you a pancake or French toast person? Chocolate chip pancakes and cake batter pancakes are my fave!

Do you prefer to be industrious or relax on Saturdays? My ideal Saturday is sleeping in, drinking Starbucks, reading my favorite blogs, going shopping or cooking with my husband. Or just sitting in bed with my Macbook. You know it!
