I’d been racking my brain for weeks trying to think of something cute to do for my little sister’s 11th birthday. I like to do active things, sugar people up, and then take pictures of them. So that’s exactly what we did!
We were chilling in Deidre’s basement last night when I randomly said out loud,”What about a photo scavenger hunt?” I checked my brain’s bookmarks, and I immediately opened this tab for a photo scavenger hunt Rubyellen of cakies prepared for her daughters to celebrate Father’s Day. I didn’t know where my Happy Tape was, and I have horrible handwriting so I had to come up with a little modification. When I got home I Googled “how to print Instagrams”, and I came up with this idea to make a cute little photo book on Blurb!
Here’s a little peek at part of Hannah’s list! There was an entire page of items!
Yeah, I started with the Starbucks trip! I knew I was going to need an Iced Skinny Vanilla Latte to get me through the morning! Plus I need Hannah to learn the importance of coffee at a young age. I’m going to save the outcome to show you in a future blog. I know it’s going to turn out lovely!
The birthday girl is NOT a fan of cake although she likes to MAKE cupcakes. That’s a lot like her big sister! So we whipped up these Cake Batter Rice Krispy Treats! We had some leftover cake mix from the Cake Batter Pancakes! The treats were so simple to make and extremely delicious. We polished off the entire pan by 5:30!
Right before Hannah Banana made it out the door, I grabbed her for some BIRTHDAY SPANKINGS!! I had to pull up her pants first. She is a McMillin girl after all! Yeah, I’m modeling my new scarf. Ruffles AND pom-poms for less than $5. Go ahead and drool over it, ladies. It was the weirdest thing. I was shopping and in the corner of my eye I spotted some scarves in the accessories section. Into my little head popped a vision of an actress in a movie I saw this week with a pom-pom scarf, and how much I loved it on her. BOOM! There it was! And with ruffles to boot! Holla!
Identify this quote: There is a thin line between love and hate, and it turns out that line is a scarf!
What other cake batter flavored things could I make? Do you remember what you did for YOUR 11th birthday? Hannah’s never going to forget this one once she has that beautiful Blurb book in her little hands!

I got my ears pierced for my 11th birthday!
Friends: “The One Where Rachel Goes Back To Work”!
That’s so weird. That was the episode that Sayuri put on the other night when we all those women invaded my privacy! Remember? I thought it was weird because you have a thing for Dermot Mulroney, but it’s weirder now that you quoted the episode…
