Cookie Friday: Reese’s Pieces Cookies + Interview Outfit

Reese’s Pieces Cookies (via Baked Bree)

Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup room temperature butter
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1 1/4 cups flour
1/4 cup cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups Reese’s Pieces

Directions

  1. Cream together butter, peanut butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Beat until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes, scraping the bowl a few times.
  2. Add the vanilla and egg.
  3. Add the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Mix until the dough comes together.
  5. Add the Reese’s Pieces and blend until they are incorporated. Do not mix too much, or the Reese’s will break.
  6. Drop onto parchment lined cookie sheets and bake for 8 to 12 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven. The edges will be set, and the centers will still be soft.

I wanted to stay with a fall kick (pumpkin, ginger, etc.), but Kevin loves the more “kid-type” cookies so this was our compromise. Reese’s Pieces are fall colors! I have no idea why mine turned out completely different from the ones on Bree’s blog, but Kevin declared them fabulous.

Interview Day!

Because I am super mature I decided to remove the chipped polish.

The new clothes tornado!

I’m a total nerd, but I love my little pointy shoes. I can’t find it online, but the pencil skirt is from Express and it has a cute little ruffle action going on by the back slit. You can’t really tell from this picture, but I did my wedding hair! Haha. Seriously. I know it’s hard to recognize without the veil! It didn’t turn out as sleek because my hair wasn’t straightened, but it did the job of hiding my disgusting split ends.

I even got up close & personal with wildlife on the way to the office! That’s Denver for you! Seriously! The heels were perfectly fine walking the few blocks across the bridge to the office. I could probably run a 5k in them, but they’re really low so it’s not that impressive.

Look at my measly little lunch! I can’t eat when I get myself anxious about something so I wasn’t in the mood for food. I can’t explain why I was nervous for that interview because it’s really no big deal and obviously not my future career! Lol. Good thing I have an amazing dinner planned!

Skirts or pants? I really dislike dress pants. Unless they are a part of a super cute suit. My preference is a dress (laziness) or a skirt outfit.

Reese’s Pieces or Peanut Butter Cups? I like the pb cups much better! But really any pb + chocolate combo works for me!

Have a great weekend!!!!! It’s 5PM ON FRIDAY!! WOOHOO!! I know I’m a lazy weekend blogger, but Kevin has tons of homework again this weekend so you might catch me.

P.S. If you’re new, I’ve made cookies for my husband every Friday since we’ve been married! This is #15, and you can find all the others on the recipe page!

  6. I get so nervous for things like that too, I thought I was going to die during my last VOLUNTEER interview…you look super cute! Do you live in Denver?! I live in Greeley…not to be a stalker or anything haha

    • Haha. Nothing like being the center of attention. Yeah. I iive in Denver, but I’m totally new. Is Greeley close? Gogle maps says a bit over an hour. :)

  7. BTW, you’re such a nerd! <3 <3 <3 XoXoXoXoXoXoX

  8. You were right! I loved that outfit. and the shoes. And I can’t wait improve my normal wardrobe in a year!!!!!!! I seriously wanted one of those cookies, too!

    • This is my job to pay for clothes for my next job… lol. Kevin came up with that idea.

  9. I would hire you based solely on your interview outfit. So. Stinking. Cute!!!!

Skirts and dresses are SO much better than dress pants. I never know what to do with my shirt when I wear pants–tuck it in, leave it out…too many choices!

Also, I am totally a Reese’s pieces girl. Goodness, they are delish! You are the best wife ever–cookies every Friday!

    • Awwa… thanks. I love it! Plus skirts/dresses are great for showing off rocking runner legs! Lol.
