(photo via MNN – Kevin was driving too fast for once in his life! )
I love that! Colorful Colorado! I never remember seeing that signage before, and I adore it. Of course, I subconsciously alliterate it with my name which makes it even more special!
But more importantly, Boyd, our playfully annoying Boykin Spaniel, is back. Can you believe they let him sleep in our hotel room last night in Nebraska? They obviously don’t know him. Kevin was trying to coach him through the lobby to “act normal.”
Boyd demanded that I rub his tummy during the full 20 minutes it takes Kevin to put his pjs on! Do you see the little crocodile mouth he does while I pet him? Not attractive!
Boyd was extremely well behaved in the backseat. He burrowed his nose in and compeltely ignored us. He’s a little grump because we would scream his name and poke him with Diet Coke bottles, but he still ignored us. THE NERVE!
I punished him by making him run sprints with me @ gas stations. Do you see that windmill? Yeah, we were traveling through Nebraska.
We’re a blur! I wore him out in 5 laps flat!
We hit up the Whole Foods salad bar on the way into town (junk food overload from the road trip!), and checked into Round 2 of temp housing. Our stuff is “on its way”, but might not be here until the 31st. Luckily, our new temp housing is in the same complex as our next apartment (for 9 months). Oh boy. I’m out like a girl scout because I have to hit the gym before our Marriage Plus class tonight. Plus you know I’m DYING to check out the new gym!

So Jen told me this morning that you run at rest areas on road trips, and i of course thought that sounded like a brilliant idea. Ran about a mile at one of the rest areas somewhere in Wisconsin while Jen changed Keira’s diaper. You’re an inspiration! It’s a good way to keep a streak alive as well, though I wish I’d gone farther. Maybe there will be a treadmill at the hotel (as much as I hate treadmills)
That’s awesome! I love it. I’ll be traveling through airports. Do you think they’d mind? I can pretend like I’m trying to catch a flight!!!!!

Your dog is adorable. Happy moving!!! Hope you can get settled soon:)
Ha! That is totally Nebraska!
I grew up 3 miles from the Kansas/Nebraska border so I know all about that! …. You have to fit it in when you can!! Glad they let him stay with you in the hotel- that’s sweet!
So cute you make your dog do sprints at gas stations! We travelled with our dog on a two day road trip and I probably should have done that with him! I guess I wasn’t as nice! Hope your new temp gym works out great for you!
What do you mean for the next 9 months? Are you having to move again once you get settled into the apt.? And what does Kevin do for 20 minutes while getting on his pjs?
We’re in temp housing until our stuff on the truck gets here, but it’s in our same complex as our new apartment. We have a 9-month lease. Kevin just likes to take his time!! lol
Fun! I love that you run sprints at the gas station. I totally do that, too!
Also, trying out our new gym at each place we have lived has been one of the most exciting things–I love it. It is the small things in life, right?!
P.S. It always shocks me when hotels are pet-friendly. I just never expect to see furry friends in a hotel!
AHAHA. I love those pictures with your dog. So adorable.
We have so may windmills up in Upstate too and I try and tell people about them back in VA and I swear they judge me like it’s my job.
