Snow Bunnies & Wonderful Bosses

Yeah, it snowed in Denver. I’ve been getting taunting messages and texts all day! :) But I’ll look at the bright side. Look at the cute snow bunny. I saw a mother/daughter building it during our lunch break today. I asked Kevin if I was going to be such a good mom someday and he said,”Yeah. Like you would sit outside in the cold.” Ouch. Lol.

This morning’s breakfast was a remix of the Caprese Egg Wrap. I had leftover caprese mix so I scrambled some eggs and threw it all together on a Bagel Thin. (By the way, I made it up around 6AM and did a TurboFire workout before work!)

Check out my splits for running the 12 floors of stairs at my office! 2:49 was my best time going up them today. 2:08 was my best time going down. I probably almost spent 10 minutes doing stairs at work today! Hooray! I can’t believe how winded I get going up. It’s crazy! And when I go down my legs are super twitchy. I have to stumble out to the car! :)

If you’re a girl like me, and you’re curious about how to take a screenshot on an iPhone, all you have to do is press the sleep & home buttons at the same time.

Today I worked hard in this glorious hot pink number which I think was far more appreciated in the DR. The pink, the ruffles! They always got so many compliments. And today? Nada! So make up for it in the comments section, please! Haha. And I washed my hair tonight. Don’t worry. It hadn’t been washed in a while. For some reason, I don’t have a blow dryer, and there’s no way I’m going out in the snow with a wet head!

While chained to my desk today, I was daydreaming about this chair by Ergoergo I read about in Fitness magazine. It’s supposed to help your posture while working your core muscles. According to their website, it can help you burn an additional 350 calories a day!

I was also thinking about fidgeting since I’ve read several articles claiming that you can burn extra calories throughout the day just by tapping your foot:

Fidgeting: You can burn up to 350 more calories a day than someone who remains stationary, according to a study at the Mayo Clinic. The impulse to fidget may be hardwired, but nonfidgeters can imitate it: Tap your feet, pace, or move restlessly in your seat. (via MSNBC)

I don’t need anyone to tell me twice to move restlessly in my seat!!

My Wonderful Boss

Can I just take a minute and say that my boss is wonderful? Sorry that I have not secretly photographed her for you. That’s probably because I like her. I would much rather be working for myself, but I’ve quickly come to admire my boss. I love the positive outlook she has about our department and how we can help the company, and she’s clearly very conscientious and caring about the people who work for her. I know I make little jokes about hating working in the office setting, but (deep down) I really am thankful to have the opportunity to work a little bit.

Also, I think I’m so funny for saying “wonderful bosses” because of the new movie out Horrible Bosses. I’m not endorsing that movie. I’m just saying Jennifer Aniston is in it.

No-Carve Pumpkin Decorating

I’m crazy for this idea over on Better Homes & Gardens! I’d probably have to add some little pom-pom tassels too, but this is super cute and you wouldn’t even have to get your hands dirty!

Do you like to build snow creatures? Or perhaps Snow Goons! I haven’t done it in years. It takes kinda long in the cold weather. But I do like to bust out a snow angel occasionally!

Would you ever sit on a stool at work like the Ergoergo? I totally would. I think they would be great in a school too. Keep kids on their toes! No napping or you’ll fall off!

What makes a good boss? Patience. Empathy. And a super cute leggings & sweater dress combo! ;)

  2. You might not make snow creatures, but I can picture you making Rice Krispie treat creatures and frosting them to look like snow creatures!

  3. I LOVE your outfit! Super cute, and still work appropriate. Good job on throwing that together. They didn’t say anything because they’re JEALOUS. Yeah. That’s it!

That pumpkin look really cool! I like that idea.

I’d love to make snow anythings. I live in The Bahamas. :( No snow here.

Great bosses: I have some. They pile on the work, then disappear until the next weekly meeting. And email now and then. Hahaha. I love that I’m not being micromanaged. And my office is super cute.

Sit on a stool? Nooo. I couldn’t. Not for an entire day. No, ma’am.

  4. You know I love your clothes. I’d wear that outfit. Hot pink, ruffles, AND scarf! what shoes did you wear? I CAN’T BELIEVE you didn’t show your shoes! lol

  6. Aww! I love your pinks shirt with the ruffles! You should have received TONS of compliments. The people in your office need to appreciate excellent fashion!

I am the biggest snow wimp ever. I get SO cold, SO quick! I am going to have to get some serious snow gear when I have kiddos so I can actually last more than 2 minutes in the snow.

Also, that pumpkin is adorable! I love ribbons!
