We’re not going to be able to go out this Thursday for date night so we decided to do it tonight. Unfortunately, I now REALLY feel like tomorrow should be Friday. Today was our last day on our trial membership at the gym, and we hustled like crazy to make it to a 5:30 Group Kick class. Because I’m completely blind, I forced Kevin into the front row with me. It was a little more choreographed and a little less work than I was expecting. Oh well, I’ll keep trying classes. I’m sure some of the ones that are weights-based will be very challenging for me
After we got cleaned up, we headed to Pizza Republica over in the cute little Landmark part of town.
Kevin thinks I should stop wearing heels so I can walk faster in the cold. I’m not going to sacrifice everything. I already had to wear pants!!
Although I am really getting into the pencil skirt with tights look.
Can you guess which pizza Miss Lame & Boring chose? Yeah. The Margherita. I don’t like mushrooms and most of the other pizzas were pretty meaty sounding. Kevin had the Giacomo, and I did a little sample. Mine was better. As usual.
Our charming server talked us into this little treat of an appetizer: fresh burrata. I’m becoming crazy for appetizers. I blame this added expense on my mother-in-law! It was totally delicious. We loved every bite. Our server explained to us that the red things were peppadews, sort of a cross between a pepper and a tomato. They were delicious. We scarfed that platter.
The first thing I asked Kevin was,“Can we get plates this big at home?”
I let Kevin take a picture of his lame pizza. Just kidding. His was okay too. I just had a little nibble off one of the sausages though. That’s some pretty hefty meat!
Oh. Check the fancy water!! I feel like this might be the fanciest restaurant we’ve ever gone to together. I’m so proud of us! Probably the only “bad” thing was the size of the Diet Coke glasses. We like to rate restaurants based on the sizes of their pop glasses, and theirs were pretty small. I think you’re supposed to be cultured & drink wine with your pizza there.
And Tuesday night was the perfect night to go to such a sweet spot!
I’m old. I like places to be quiet.
I asked the server to take our picture. Aren’t we cute? The server brought us two separate boxes for our leftover pizza (we have an entire pizza for lunch tomorrow!!! seriously!!!!!!) and said,“I didn’t want to presumptuous.” Isn’t that sweet? That totally won my heart. It should remind Kevin James that he’s lucky to be going home with me!
Practical Kevin opened up the boxes to combine them when we got home, and we found extra garlic!! We asked about how it was made because it’s super crunchy, and I mentioned that we’re garlic lovers. So they gave us to extra containers!! Unfortunately, I ate quite a bit and got the strongest garlic breath everrrrr.
I read on some reliable source like Yahoo Answers that you can rub a stainless steel spoon on your tongue before brushing your teeth and that helps take away the overpowering smell. I have a feeling I’m still going to have some lingering tomorrow morning. Lucky, lucky Kevin!
But I’m going to be like s-o healthy, right?
What’s your favorite appetizer? French fries. Mozzarella sticks. Chicken strips. Bruschetta! Obviously anything with hummus. I also count those as meals. Lol. Oh my word. I better post something healthy tomorrow!!!!
Do you like fancy restaurants or more casual ones? Casual. Although I like to dress up & go out. But I don’t mind doing that just for Yogurtini, so no prob!

That place looks great! I like places to be quiet too.
I cannot wait to have date nights again–my date needs to fly home soon!
I think your pizza looks YUMMY, not lame at all! I cannot eat mushrooms! For some reason I have this strong aversion to them lately!
I love going to more casual places for dinner–it just makes the whole night more comfy/cozy!
It was totally delicious, but I just felt like I was ordering the kid’s meal! Haha. The almost-plain cheese pizza.
The mother-in-law makes a GREAT garlic chicken chili, but you soooooooo will not be able to stand to be in the same room with yourself for the next 2 days. I’m not joking. You just have to keep moving around the house to escape the smell!
Haha. I read all sorts of interesting home remedies for taking care of that. Apparently thyme is like the super neutralizing herb!
The husband and I ate at “The Stinking Rose” in San Francisco- where they flavor their garlic with food. SERIOUS garlic going on there! ……..The husband thought he was going to die- the after breath killllllled him! It was quite funny to be honest!
Oh man. I have a bunch of leftovers at home, and I’m afraid to eat it for lunch because I don’t want that breath back!!!!! I love that restaurant name. I want to go!
