Our puppers has a new perch!!!! We’re rarely home during daylight hours, but today he was going bananas looking out the window at the snow.
It took me exactly 26 minutes and one iPhone Google for me to convince Kevin to go to Group Power with me this morning. He’s still nursing a cold, but I convinced him that it would still be good for him to exercise. He didn’t believe me that it’s good to exercise when you’re sick, but please, I’ve read the entire internet. I KNOW what we’re going to find when we Google that!!
I would have let him off the hook, but I REALLY wanted to go and I was still too scared to go by myself. I’m super intimidated by all the equipment and loading the plates and whatnot. I did fine today so I think if this situation presented itself again, I would go by my lonesome. I’m so annoying to live with (other than the Chubby Hubby Truffles perk).
I told Kevin,”You’re like my hardest client.” I had to pull out so many mantras to get him out of bed and to the gym by 10AM. Speaking of clients, I’ve started to seriously consider working on getting my personal training license. I figure this upcoming year would be the prime time to study for it since Kevin is always doing his annoying MBA homework. We’ll see.
My tired muscles deserved a kiss. Or my shoulder. Because that’s where I could reach with my iPhone in the other hand.
After class, Kevin and I tag teamed it to make this delicious omelette. We had one apple chicken sausage leftover from like two months ago, and I decided to fry that baby up. I added green pepper, onions, and of course, jalapeños. It was so good. And the perfect protein after a tough workout! My arms kill after those workouts. At one point, we were supposed to do tricep pushups, and I literally couldn’t even hold my body up on my hands & knees because my arms were all shaky!!!! Holla. I love tough workouts.
Later on in the day, I still had to get my long Saturday run in, so I tried for a “fast” 10k (47:28) and then 4 lazy miles for a total of a bit over 10 for today. Kevin had to do homework anyways.
I’m doing my BEST to have sympathy on Kevin’s illness (I’m famous for thinking people are faking sickness — right, Megan?!) so I made a massive batch of homemade chicken noodle soup. I used a recipe for Healthy & Easy Chicken Noodle Soup from Fitness magazine, and it turned out great! I’m excited for leftovers.
On the side, we had a little extra sharp cheese panini!! So tasty!
Friday night…
Trying to keep things chill for Kev Kev, we actually watched a movie. Swanky Dietitian had mentioned this movie, and I was curious. Historical Drama is like on the few genres that both Kevin and me could really get into. Anyways. I loved the movie. LOVED the soundtrack. And I always love Colin Firth. The movie is rated R only because there is one scene where the main character is in speech therapy and repeats a certain curse word several times. Of course, the director (or whoever makes those decisions) couldn’t bleep it or anything. I mean, it had a point to it in a way, but it’s annoying that it made the movie rated R. Okay, I’m done talking about that. Other than that, it’s completely family friendly and made me soooo curious to read about King George VI.
We also ORDERED pizza. First time ever!!!!! It was very exciting. And stuffed crust!! I limited myself to 2 pieces (which slid to 3) because — I’ve totally learned to HATE the junk food hangover. I even told Kevin not to order bread sticks!!! I’ve lost my edge!!! Kevin thinks I need to work on becoming immune to junk food again so this isn’t a problem!! Haha.
Do you workout when you’re sick? I haven’t missed a workout in a very long time. But I also haven’t really been sick in a few years *knock on wood.* I never did take a sick day (for 3 years) back at SCS. Even though my eye was swollen shut (allergies). Lol.
What’s the best movie you’ve seen lately? The King’s Speech. Lol. If the snow keeps up, I’m gonna watch some Christmas movies!
Do you ever order food? I seriously felt so spoiled. That’s totally a once in six months treat for us. Especially with how much I love to cook. Kevin was SO HAPPY when I suggested it. He was afraid I was going to “take it away” later after work. Haha. I would totally do that, but it was the perfect night for it with the crazy busy week and Kevin being sick. And what’s better than watching a movie with pizza.
P.S. I just looked over at Kevin and said,”I bet your mom would just let you be sick.” Kevin (pathetically): “Uh-huh!!!!!!” He will NEVER admit it, but I know he totally felt better after that workout. And I don’t think he coughed more than once or twice throughout!

It’s so funny how dogs love snow! I loved The King’s Speech. You should see Anonymous, which might still be in theatres. It was incredible!!
Thanks! I’m gonna check that out!
We loved The King’s Speech. I know it was a good movie because I didn’t fall asleep until there were only like 20 minutes left. I ALWAYS fall asleep when we rent a movie and I ususally fall asleep in the first 20-30 minutes so I know this one was excellent. Every Christmas Josh and I watch A Christmas Carole (the oldest version we can find….you know the door knocker turns into Jacob Marley and I wet myself in fear). I fall asleep for that to. Every. single. year. Good thing I know the story.
I am so glad you liked the movie! I looked up George VI also after seeing the movie. It was such an interesting story.
I am on the fence about working out when sick. If it just a cold, usually I will try and go for it.
