I like biscuits more than cookies!!!!
Basil & Green Onion Whole Wheat Biscuits (adapted from All Recipes)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 packet Truvia (replaces sugar)
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup Melt(replaces buter/oil)
- 1 cup skim milk
Directions: In a medium bowl, combine flours, baking powder, sugar, and salt; mix well. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk just until moistened. Divide and drop by spoonfuls into greased cupcake pan.
This recipe was a cinch! Of course, I put some jalapeños on top because that’s the way we like it! We were having boring leftovers so I wanted a little side dish to jazz things up. Can’t go wrong with double carbs!!! The Melt worked like a charm in the biscuits. It’s becoming my new love.
If I am taking pictures of food, the Boykin is never too far away!!!
Blackberries in our oatmeal is the kind of treat that is only still around in our house the day AFTER a big grocery shopping trip.
Today’s workout: 1 hour Group Power (we made it at 5:30-yay!!!) Followed by .53 mile warm-up on one the awful back row treadmills, + 3.18 miles @ 7:08 pace when I got to move to the treadmills that are only semi-awful.
Ha! My Praxis study guide book says I deserve a reward after the test. I laughed because I’ve already been asking Kevin James what my reward will be!! I like to reward myself for the smallest things so I definitely think this deserves a little Yogurtini. By the way, I won’t get my results for like 45 days. So if I don’t brag on the blog after that, you can assume I’ve failed. Lol.
And big happy b-day to my little brother, Luke! The original baby of the first half of the family.
This is all the sibs last Christmas! Kelly is the oldest on the far right, Luke is to the left of me. White Josiah, Hanana Banana, and Nerdcakes AJ are in the front. Both my parents also have December birthdays – including my Mom’s on Christmas! I think it must be rough to share all the attention. Sorry guys! :)
What are your favorite things to GIVE for Christmas? Books, of course. And this year, for the kids I’ve been trying to focus on gifts that encourage ACTIVE and IMAGINATIVE play. I’m really a video game hater, as much as I love technology and iPhones. I played with paper dolls and baby dolls till I was like 13, and I’m convinced that’s the way to go. I also love to buy clothes for people. I just can’t help it. I’m not trying to insult. I just like clothes.
Oh Happy Day! posted a great article on experience gifts. I would love to do that. If I had my act together.
Favorite class workout? Hated Group Kick. Love Group Power. I like to do a song or 2 of Zumba, but it’s not a tough enough workout for me to commit an entire hour to. Still a few more to try!!
What should my reward be for taking this test? I’m thinking fro-yo first, but beyond that — the options are endless. Piperlime has a 25% sale on boots!
