The Boykin took full advantage scavenging behind my holiday baking this weekend. The eggnog fudge was a huge hit so I decided to make another batch for Kevin’s work pot luck.
That meant another marshmallow creme container for Boyd! What a good life!!! Although he is currently GROUNDED to the bathroom because I couldn’t get him to stop eating ribbon while I was decorating gifts. Luckily, he can’t seem to choke it down so I was able to rip it out of his little mouth on time!
After church, we headed to the library to pick out some books for our upcoming vacay!!!!! We don’t want to be stuck paying $20 for paperbacks in the airport!! Unfortunately, I didn’t pick up the books I had on hold in time. Booo!! So they sent them back. I wasn’t able to find any super good picks because I was kind of rushed to get out of there.
Not sure if you can catch the sparkle in my new clearance Gap tights…. but they’re SPARKLY!!
Kevin and are so close to Christmas vacation we can TASTE it. We are now refusing to wear anything other than red & green!!

To top it off — there were carolers at the library by the information desk. They were SO GOOD. They even did little motions as they sang. I think they were two couples. So cute!! And those muffs. Wow! So inspirational.
Today’s workout: 4.04 miles in 32:32 – that’s an 8:03 pace
It was SO sunny we couldn’t resist a little outdoor action. Yay for sunny Denver!! Sunday afternoon are absolutely packed so we had barely an hour to run, shower, and get to our marriage + class at 4PM. But we knew if we waited till after class, it would be back to freezing after the sun went down. I got to run an extra lap around our mile block while Kevin went back to start showering.
Before we went running, Kevin let me open my first gift!!!
That’s right, my first gift as a married woman was SOCKS!! I was in a mad panic because I literally have like 2 pairs of socks. It’s totally disgusting, but I rarely wash them because I’m afraid they won’t be dry/I won’t be able to find them the next time I want to run!! Haha. Kevin saved the day this afternoon by letting me open a gift early!! They have this weird extra little ankle cuff, but it might be good for me since I have a tendency to blister.
We gave this soup a little try. I LOVED it. The red pepper flavor was definitely there, and I love that you can just make as much as you want and toss it the fridge.
Don’t freak out, but we had some of Udi’s Gluten Free bread for paninis tonight. I’m absolutely NOT going gluten-free!!! I actually wanted this French bread we had the other day, but we couldn’t find it. The nicely sized slices was actually what won us over to the Honey Wheat variety of Udi’s. It was really perfectly convenient for paninis! I had half sharp cheddar/half pepper jack. Kevin had all the leftovers in the fridge on bread.
I had some cheez-its on the side. I’m pretty sure those are forbidden in any diet so I hope that helps calm your fears.
How many days till YOUR Christmas break? 2!! And Tuesday is going to be all hyperness & pot lucks so it hardly counts.
Have you opened any of your Christmas gifts yet? The SOCKS and the cool Yogurtini containers from Kristy. Kevin and I are going to open our gifts to each other Tuesday night, and we are SO EXCITED!!!
Would you be upset if you got socks? No way. Socks are like a luxury gift to me!!! Running socks, that is. That’s really the only time I wear socks (other than tights, obviously).
How was your weekend? Pretty awesome. I got to do a lot of festive stuff. More on that tomorrow!!!!

If the socks are cozy, warm, running socks (and ankle socks), i wouldn’t mind if i got socks as a prezzie
I think that is true love, that your first gift was socks
I never have enough socks!
Whoa girlie you are a FAST runner. I certainly cannot keep up with you!
3 1/2 days left….but who’s counting!!! I would love some running socks for Christmas! My sister’s first gift as a married lady from my BIL was advice books on dealing with suicide! She was an adjustment counselor at the time….how romantic!
Omg! That’s definitely worse than socks!!! Lol.
Carolers in the library sound fantastic!
I think socks are a great gift! It’s one of those things I always forget to buy for myself!
I HAVE THOSE SAME SOCKS from target, LOVE THEM!!
I’m a huge fan of your sparkle tights.
Annnnd I also love getting books from the library, it’s the best way to read books– huge supply and you don’t have to accumulate a bunch of stuff at home, like you would if you bought every book that you read!
Oh good. I’m glad you like them. I can NOT keep track of socks. Plus our dog (seriously!!) loves to eat them. So I need lots.
Libraries are the best!!! And everything is free. Unless you get fines… lol.
I actually gave Torrance the idea to put socks in my stocking~!! I will always take socks!! Seems I am always losing them (or one out of the pair).
And I have to work all the way through Friday so the first day of my break will be Saturday, 3 day weekend!
No Xmas gifts opened yet, besides cards of course!
Oh man! The whole week? I’m so antsy already on Monday!! Hope it’s a more relaxed week anyways. Socks rock. I want some hot pink compression socks.
Gluten-free isn’t so bad if you find the right stuff. That bread looks terrible! did you know you can purchase a bag of gluten? like a bag of flour only gluten. gross. Gluten is supposed to be bad for you, isn’t it? I almost attempted to bake everything gluten-free the other day, but I couldn’t find a good enough deal on the flour, it’s much cheaper if you order it online! At least my flour was organic…so I did half good! lol.
Lol. We actually liked that Udi’s bread. It’s very popular in the blogosphere – haha.Gluten-free has its pros and cons, but I don’t ever see myself going all the way gf!!!
I’m with you- only red or green till Christmas!
I am so pumped there are a few gifts I can NOT wait to give!!!! …….Carolers in the bookstore- that is pretty darn neat. I would have gotten some coffee and sat down to listen for an hour or so.
Our cats are the worst this time of year. Chewing on the Christmas tree and dragging out all sorts of Christmas decorations or wrapping. They have to be supervised at all times. They must want to get in the Christmas spirit too!
