This is what December running in Minnesota looks like…

At least it’s making me thankful for the sun in Denver!! Isn’t that just bleak? Kevin and I have been powering through and running every day even in this miserable weather!

This morning we found ourselves running in Rochester, MN, since we were visiting our good friends Randy & Deidre. I know for a fact that it’s the coldest run I’ve been on all year.

What I wore:

• Nike running tights
• Nike hyperwarm pants
• T-shirt
• Hot pink Nike Dri-fit Jacket
• Lululemon black jacket
• My new Lulu black headband underneath the hood of the jacket!

I, on the other hand, did not look fashionable. Just a little pillow-y. We manged 3.29 miles in 27:45 – that’s an 8:26. Our run included this memorable quote from Kevin,”I NEVER want to live in Minnesota again.” Usually that’s the type of dramatic thing I would say! We could live in Minnesota — we’d just need a gym membership!

After doing a little bit of last-minute shopping at Apache Mall, we were starved. I was totally in the mood for this pizza place. Kevin and I were there once before, but I think it was before I had this blog??! I kept searching for a blog about it and couldn’t find it. Or maybe I just looked too ugly that day to blog about it. Who knows! Haha.

I kept it simple and chose an old fave — I love pizza with pineapple sosososo much!

Kevin showed off his blogger husband of the year skills by giving us advice while snapping pictures. “Eyes up — chin down!” Lol.

His new trick is to make grumpy faces when I am taking his picture for the 10,000th time that day!

Later on, we headed back to Deidre’s to get a little bit more comfortable. And eat about 15 mint mini Hershey’s bars. We were disappointed we couldn’t find the mint Hershey’s kisses anywhere! Those are the best!!

I convinced Joanie to test drive the trick to avoid getting lipstick on your wine glass. Don’t get mad at me for posting this picture. At least I told the truth about what you were doing instead of just — this is Joanie looking ridiculous! Look at the bright side!

The husbands. Kevin and I are totally thrilled at how much they’ve bonded. I mean if you’ve played Frisbee Golf on PS3, you’re destined to be BFFs. Also, Randy just read my blog for the first time today. So that makes everyone happy!

All the girls had so much fun catching up!! We also got our nails done today. I just want to give an explanation about why I’m wearing leggings as pants!! I’m too ashamed of myself. But Pippa Middleton did it, so that means I can too! I actually have a good excuse though. I was planning to wear my “skinny” jeans, but they do not roll up very well at all (a MUST if you’re getting a pedi) due to my hyper-muscular calves. Ok. I’m done making excuses to myself now!

After saying goodbye to our friends, Kevin and I headed over to Winona to hang with his fam. We had just the best double date night with his brother & sister-in-law sitting in their kitchen and eating an entire bag of mint Hershey’s kisses. I finally found them today in Target! And probably waited in line 15 minutes just to buy them!! THE LAST BAG! And that’s saying a lot for me because I’m extremely impatient with lines and will just usually give it up and walk out!  We’re looking forward to Christmas Eve with his side and then back to my side for Christmas Day.

Do you like winter? I mean, seriously, do you like it? I love Christmas, but I hate being cold sososososo much. I feel like winter weather is just a constant state of feeling uncomfortable. Even in slippers under blankets!! I miss having an electric blanket, but I know Kevin’s never going to let that fly.

Do you run outside in the cold? I’m committed to not skipping. I didn’t say “not complaining.” I said “not skipping.” Lol. But I think we get to go to the Y tomorrow!! Yay!

Favorite Hershey’s kiss flavor? Definitely the mint. But I do like original and dark. I’m not a fan of the ones with nuts or cherries.
