Today’s workout: 4.51 miles of literally running errands. Lovely weather in Denver today!
We’re Minnesota kids!! We’d seriously never been to a Chick fil-A!! I know I love the healthy food, but before there was healthy food in my life – there was chicken & fries!
I almost got run over by the drive-thru customers while taking this picture. Kevin rescued me as usual.
We supersized. I’m not kidding. We go big or go home. Or as they call it at Chick fil-A – upsizing!! They have really good sauces there too. Kevin and I are sauce lovers. I’m not a fan of ketchup, but if I was I’d be very impressed by the dip & squeeze packets.
You can’t say it’s not a classy restaurant – they had fresh flowers on the tables!!
We were a little disappointed that they had the pop refills behind the counter. That’s an important amenity to us. I’m too timid to ask for a refill myself. Good thing I have Kevin the Courageous to do it for me. Haha.
Why was I wearing that gorgeous green Garmin?
Earlier…
We picked up our t-shirts and chips for Frosty’s Frozen 5 & 10! I purposefully left my Garmin on to play the part.
Doesn’t he look like he’s signing a marriage certificate? Awwa… just a race waiver. I enjoyed chatting it up with the race volunteers about how Kevin is running the 5, and I’m going for the 10 miler. At least we signed up for a race before going to Chick fil-A, riiiight?
Oh boy. Even earlier than THAT, I had my interview. Ummmm….. I don’t know how to say this nicely. It was a definite N-O! I knew before I even went into the interview that it wasn’t going to be a good fit for me. Part of that may have been the fact that they kept me waiting 45 minutes (during which time apparently they didn’t realize I could hear everything they were saying), and the overall tone was just not professional. I was hoping for at least a good warm-up interview, but I was kind of disappointed.
That said, hey, I’m thankful to be in a position where I can be choosy, but I’m anxious to work with kids again. I’m not sure how long my temp job is going to last, but if I get laid off I can study my NASM book and work on getting a piano!! I think I’d make an excellent self-employed piano teacher/personal trainer. And I’d be a great boss to myself. Actually, knowing my personality I’d probably be a slave driver.
The good news is that I got to go to Starbucks afterwards! I had that nice lemon water and a skinny vanilla latte while I caught up on some blog reading and waited for Kevin to get off work. Good day!!!
Have you been to Chick fil-A? What’s your favorite order? I loved my nuggets and waffle fries!!
Preferred type of french fry? I think I love crinkle fries the most. But I love them all.
If you could be (or are!) self-employed, what would you like to do? Personal trainer, piano teacher, blogger *duh*, and I’d love to teach online someday, but that’s not exactly self-employed.

Yeah, I’m addicted to Chick Fil A! I get their calendar filled with coupons each yr for Christmas but it makes me sad the only one I’ve found is right near my work. I need one by my house! But then again, it could be a good thing with it being far away from me….
I L.O.V.E. Chick-Fil-A!!!! Did you know they used to give away Adventures in Odyssey cassettes (back in the day) in their kids meal? Super cool.
What? Odyssey cassettes? That is sooo awesome! I would’ve love that. Ok. I probably still would!
We must be on the same wave length! I just wrote a post on making a trip to McDonalds the other night and how I felt about it. I honestly can’t remember the last time I had been at a fast food joint (besides this week) and not sure its something I enjoy. But actually Chik-fil-A is supposed to be the best option for fast food so nice choice!!
I always feel bad for people who don’t have a CFA near them.
I’m glad you were able to check one out! The milkshakes are filled with calories and crap but OMGZ so good!
I used to love chick-fil-a! I remember my family had it for the first time in our vacation to florida when I was about 11. I’d been a fan ever since. I think it’s so cool that they’re closed on Sundays, too!
Keepin’ the Sabbath holy
Love waffle fries and flowers on the table…classssaaaay!
I think I’d be a professional fitness blogger/runner. Really if my body stayed healthy enough to train for races and run as much as I wanted to that just sounds dreamy. Travel expert/reviewer sounds awesome too, something I’ve always wanted to do, but difficult as a mom of 3 and wife of 1. Oh, can’t forget the showgirl on a cruise ship…just not the one that sank. Have a fab weekend.
I love that you call soda pop! Only real people do it. And I’d have super sized it too. Waffle fries, yes please! I’m too scared to ask for refills when it’s behind the counter. At least you have someone to do the dirty pop-refill work for you.
That’s why I got married!! Lol.
I’ve never been to Chick-Fil-A, but then again, I’m a vegetarian so it’s not high on my list
I’d definitely take some of those waffle fries, though. They are better than regular fries, IMO, because they have greater surface area – meaning more room for ketchup! haha
More surface area!! That’s an excellent point!!!!! Haha.
Chick-Fil-A is so good! I love their chicken deluxe sandwiches. I also love that everyone who works there is over the top (almost annoying) friendly. How they get a bunch of high school kids to say “It’s my pleasure!” when you ask for a refill is beyond me.
Man, I missed that. I would love to say that to people.
Keepin’ it classy at Cick Fil-A with fresh flowers
If I could be self-employed, I’d be a baker! I’m sure that after a (short) while the 3am wake-up to bake muffins would get old, but it’s a nice idea!
I have never been to chic-fil-a (sheltered remember? haha) and i remember the first time i ever saw one in a mall I was like “torrance what is chick-fill-uh?” ha!
I am not a big french fry fan but do like sweet potato fries! and i have been known to sneak a few plain french fries from torrance here and there (like the plain mcdonalds kind) if he has them!
You play piano??? I’m super jealous. I’m self employed-ish. I’m mostly an independent contractor and I freelance at different theatres and studios and teach some private voice lessons (which would would be so much easier with better piano skills!, but I would love to make the blog an actual part of my job, and I’ve always wanted to do like motivational speaking (as cheesey as that sounds) on weight loss and health. Also, my favorite fries are sweet potato, no question!
CHICK FIL-A! Yes! I loved that place when I was little. I haven’t seen one in a while though, sad. It’s so good! (My boyfriend calls it Chick-fil-uh. He can never remember the name, ha!)
Sorry about that interview – I despise interviews so I get annoyed when it’s “not worth it”. It’s always a learning experience though.
I would love to be self-employed. I want to be a personal trainer and blogger and maybe a race organizer?! I suppose I would need some help with that last one, haha. Or maybe a physical therapist that travels and works with athletes. Does that count? Regardless, I just wanna be the boss!!
Never been to Chickfila?! Don’t like Ketchup?! Who are you?! bahaha jk. It’s good that you’re not rushing to get a job so you know you’re choosing the right one. I would want to be a blogger or open a bakery but knowing me, that’ll never happen. haha
Yeah it’s good to be choosy about a job so you don’t get stuck in a sucky situation (I think that’s worse than not having a job…)! Do they have Zaxby’s out there? It’s a chicken joint like Chick-Fil-A, but super good.
Sorry about the job:( but it’s nice when the decision is easy!! I would def be a personal trainee if I were self employed. I have all of the nasm study material too, just need to find the time to study it! I think it would be a lot of fun to do that for a job. Happy Friday!!:)
