Cookie Friday: Apple Crisp Truffles + Dance Battle

Well, I was inspired by this recipe for Apple Crisp Truffles on Healthy Food For Living. But I was missing quite a few ingredients and couldn’t find some at Sooper’s. I decided to improvise, and my creation turned out so-so. I’m not going to spare you from the recipe for so-so. But it was good. It was close! The taste was good, the consistency a little too weird. I tried roasted apples with liquid sweetener + Melt + oats + unsweetened applesauce + a lot of cinnamon, but it wasn’t quite there yet!

Last night…

On our way to Date Night, for some reason our Wii popped into my head. Don’t ask me why we have a Wii. We haven’t used it since last July, but I guess it’s something Kev-Kev did back in his bachelor days. In my opinion, the only good thing about the Wii is the dance games!! So instead of sitting on the futon watching or something or fiddling on our computers, we “danced.” Except we had to wait for the Wii to update which was super annoying. I’m about as patient as a 5-year-old waiting on that sort of thing!

We played probably 15 songs, and guess who 13 out of 15?

That would be Kevin AKA Happy… I couldn’t touch him. I don’t know how he does it!!

But there’s no denying who had the more appropriate shirt!

And I wore my buggy BodyBugg. It’s very conservative with its calorie burn, and it said I got about 409 burnt. That’s equivalent to running like 4 miles!! And my arms were a little sore today!! Lol. It was nice $2 entertainment. We probably won’t play anything again for another year. Although I do want to try the country line dancing one. I think it would be fun!

We got so hot that we had to stop for a water break. Pansies.

Anyways. It was fun. Anything to not be sitting on the couch at night. Hopefully once I find the perfect bike, we’ll be biking around at night too.  We do enough sitting at our desks during the day!!

Funny Friday:

Have you seen this Improv Everywhere? It’s a YouTube video, and I watched the whole thing. Twice. Once by myself and once with Kevin when he got home from work. That proves it’s good right? I usually only watch workout videos.

Have you played any Wii dance games? My older brother was really good too. I think it’s because boys typically play more video games so they know how to work the system without even working for it.

What do you do to stay off the couch all night? I mean, it’s good to be there sometimes. But it gets to be a bit much on the weekends, especially if you work a desk job.

  1. The Michael Jackson Experience game for Wii is awesome. You even get to learn the zombie dance from Thriller!

In the summers we garden, water plants, sit outside and read-that sort of stuff. In the winter we play scrabble and watch ski videos.

Night time is fair game for the couch, but on the weekends I like to get out and go for spectacular hikes. But I agree, it is important to stay moving on your off time!

  4. I love playing the dance games with my niece–we jump all over the place!

  5. I do sit on the couch, but not really that much. Since Anthony and I don’t live together, and don’t have cars, there’s always a lot of walking back and forth from each other’s houses in the evening. SOrry your cookies didn’t turn out! Next time!

  6. I want a Wii just for one of those dance games. I love Just Dance and recently I have seen Zumba ones! So fun!!

Those truffles look amazing!! We used to play the Sonic Olympic Games one and it was SO fun and HILARIOUS… and quite the work out. :)

  8. Freaking awesome truffles, I need to try that. Love dancing stuff like that, getting your groove on for sure.
