Brutal workout tonight.
We earned those red faces!!!
Warm-up: Double under practice. I WILL GET ONE!! AND SOON!!
5 rounds for time:
- 25 squats
- 15 burpees (real ones)
- 400 meter run
I hit lap each time I finished a round so I could get idea.
My splits: 4:52, 4:49, 5:08 5:14, and 4:13 = 23:36!
My fifth round was a full minute faster than my fourth! I was booking it! I like to do negative splits in workouts (just like running), but also some people had come into our little apartment gym. They were slacking on the elliptical, and I had to show them what a real workout looked like (I kid, I kid). It’s crazy, but there’s this one girl who I always DESPERATELY HOPE will ask to workout with us. She once asked me how to do a burpee, and it was like one of the proudest moments of my life. Or at least of that month!! No luck so far. But Kevin and I were pretty crazed throughout this workout so we definitely gave them something to look at it. It’s a tiny gym so the burpees and running back and forth really shake it up!
How we really felt afterwards… lol.
I seriously had a hard time reaching into a cupboard above eye level right after this workout. Haha.
We actually got to use our bikes for a REAL REASON tonight. I totally thought we still had pasta….
Got my pasta in my reusable shopping bag (it’s Baggu!). Totally from Denver now, right? Or at least Colorado.
Is the neon pink blinding your eyes yet?!
I just noticed tonight that our bikes are practically TWINNERS!! Lol. The color anyways. But mine is way cooler.
I know the pasta looks kinda weird, but I have a new combo I swear by. Cottage cheese blended with spinach, crushed red pepper, Italian seasoning, and loads of garlic. Add a little pasta sauce and/or crushed tomatoes and you have a beautiful pasta bake. I couldn’t get it to turn back to red!!! Apparently spinach has a very powerful coloring!!! Kevin even admits that this is good. The cottage cheese totally makes it seem super cheesy when it’s not. Yay.
After dinner, we meandered over to some music in a park nearby.
OPIE GONE BAD.
They drew quite the crowd in the park.
They apparently have music in (practically) our back yard every Tuesday. I can’t believe we didn’t hear them last week. We’re going to have to choose a good week and pack a picnic!! I was eyeing everyone’s food. The lady in front of me had a giant container of tortellini and almost all the adults had wine! So sophisticated. Haha.
We did a little more recreational biking before heading home. We saw a fox!!!!! Kevin tried to get a picture, but he sneaked away and all we got was a blur!
Any moves you’re trying to work up to? Double unders are priority #1 right now, but I also really want to work on pull-ups!
Favorite picnic food? I guess I could do more salads in jars! But I think we might need some cupcakes too!
