So hott today! I’m not complaining. I’m thankful. *Winter haters for life*** And I’m even saying that when the a/c has been malfunctioning in my 12th floor office… that’s hard-core right there.
It DOES, however, put a slight damper on our workout motivation. It hit 100 today, and our two options are outdoors or in our muggy upstairs apartment gym. We chose the gym so at least we’d have towels and cold water.

We were sharing the gym tonight with some other tenants (including the girl I’m increasingly tempted to invite to workout with us!!!!!!) so Kevin and I had to trade off treadmills. That meant I actually did 40 lunges curls and 35 lunge presses in Round 1 while I was waiting to trade off the on the treadmill. I’m not gonna be wasting time in the gm. Huge pet peeve!! Lol. So crank out some more reps while you wait, right? I finished in 26 minutes flat. I used 10 pounds on the curls, and 5ers on the other two variations. I need to remember to bring my 8′s to the gym next time because I think I could hack those!
When we came home for lunch, we were both seriously dragging! I knew we needed some COLOR on our plates.
Hummus sandwich on Udi’s, homemade rainbow slaw + apple slices.
I spotted that bag of plain rainbow slaw at the store and decided to make my own salad. I sprinkled in just a few almonds and sunflower seeds, 2 TBSP olive oil, juice from 1 lime, plus salt & pepper. Amazing!!! And so fresh. I love bagged convenience veggies, I really do.

Can you tell that I’m just as excited about Kevin’s birthday as he is!? It’s his first bday since we’ve been married so I’m really pumped that we get to spend the whole thing together!!!!
Just in case you forgot what I looked like. I noticed I didn’t post any pictures of myself over the weekend. Just the food. Lol. Be grateful you can’t see my hair. I’m still struggling with Colorado dryness/huge tangled mess of curls!! Kevin was a little late meeting me after work since he was gossiping with co-workers (we work for the same company but in different buildings).
We decided the sweltering weather warranted some fro-yo!!!!
So wonderful. I had a proud moment today. When we were discussing dinner, Kevin suggested we skip potatoes as an extra side since we were going to have fro-yo!!!!!! So proud. We had turkey burgers, salad, and baked beans. Kevin grilled awesome burgers, but I neglected to take a picture that looks even remotely appetizing. Hopefully our new house’s lighting will be better for my super artistic iPhone photography!!
Do you like super hot weather? Definitely. Except when people overly crank the a/c. Travel with a jacket, friends?
Any tips for hot weather workouts? 5PM is really our sweet spot for working out. Not so sweet when the weather’s like this and we don’t have any air-conditioned spaces available. Pool running? Just kidding. I know we should try mornings again. We always are like “we could do this”, and then only do it for one day because we actually hate it.
Do you get excited for birthdays? Yes. You know Boyd’s birthday is coming up in July. Be looking forward to it!!!
