This morning’s workout required two simple things:
A chair.
And a wall.
Don’t worry. I chose the roughest looking patch of wall just in case I happened to put my foot through it. That sounds like something I’d do in a brand new house!
My family is out doing the tourist thing today so I wanted to try out a GPP workout from a few days ago that I missed out on!
SLS, HSPU
10 rounds:
I think my chair might have been a little high for the SLS, but I worked with what I had. The handstand pushups aren’t quite there yet, but I did spend a LOT of time in handstands doing little mini pushes. I started to loiter around between exercises in round 6 but managed to whip myself into shape. “You know you’re going to finish this! You’re not going to quit so just get going!!!”
Done.
I tried to practice my strict pushups. Those aren’t going well. Maybe later tonight I’ll try again.
Boyd has been very happy with my family here. Showered with affection and empty ice cream cartons.
Kevin, on the other hand, has been exasperated by the self-appointed Cookie Jar Guard. Haha.
Not to mention that he’s had to share his cookies!!
I’ve actually got some cookies in the oven right now to refill the cookie jar!!! I don’t think the kids will like these ones as well so maybe they’ll last longer. Haha. Don’t worry. Kevin and I have already had talks about where we’ll hide our favorite snacks someday when we have kids. Neither of us are exactly great with sharing food…
Look what just came to the door and interrupted my blogging!! I thought it was going to be THE PIANO, but it was just the lawn mower. Yeah, I bought our lawn mower online. Amazon Prime is the way to go!!! It’s this Greenworks 16-inch Push Reel. Looks like Kevin is going to have something to put together after Date Night!!!
When is the last time you mowed lawn? Probably August 5, 2011 when Kevin convinced me it was a form of exercise to use his parents’ super retro lawn mower.
Can you do a handstand? I tried to a free-standing one after my workout. Woops. I guess I’ve gotten used to kicking hard into the wall because I almost flipped over!!!

Oh my gosh Kevin and those kiddos is so cute!!
Congrats on a lawn mower!! I think that makes you officially an adult!
there’s your cookie jar! …i’m stalking your blog for delicious cookie ideas to make today. you make the best looking cookies!!
Hand-stand push-ups?! I can’t even do a handstand!
I’m much better at doing push-ups now than I used to be- since we do SO many of them in Bodypump. But they’re still never EASY.
I never mow the lawn… that’s totally Greg’s duty. I did once. Um, two years ago?
Mowing the lawn at my daddys house was my chore. I actually liked it, because he lives in the country, so I would mow in my bikini in the summer time lol
Wow I am seriously in awe that you can do handstand push ups! Some guy was doing it at the gym this morning and I was literally just standing & watching him (creeper much ha) in disbelief! Being upside down doesn’t sit well with me..literally ha!
I’m the lawn mower in our family. Which has always seemed kind of weird to me, but my husband is never in as big of a rush to mow it as I am. So I end up with the job. We tried using a mower like that, but I think our grass was too soft and wispy. It didn’t work:( It would have been great for our small yard! Love Amazon Prime!
I’ve always been terrified of being upside down because I am sure I will bash my head into the ground. Maybe once I get my normal push-ups more tuned up, I’ll give a handstand a try lol.
I can do a handstand – but I did gymnastics for 5 years growing up so that’s the only way I’m able to!
I haven’t mowed anything since…… I’m not even sure. Maybe 2000 before my family moved overseas? I used to have to mow all the time and I hated it, haha! When we lived in a city of 8 million people, we definitely had no lawn to mow, haha! And then I was in college for 4 years and then I got married and my husband LOVES yardwork so yeaaah… haven’t mowed in over 10 years. Good stuff, haha!
