So happy to see this in my living room this morning….
Sorry, we don’t have curtains really, and the sun on that side of the house is a little oppressive in the mornings!!
I am in love with it!!Because it’s so tall it can play really loud, and I love that!! A much fuller, richer sound that a smaller console type piano. I feel so happy with a piano in my house that I can play any time I want. I haven’t lived in a house with one for almost 10 years. Of course, I had access to them in college, but it’s just not the same. And pianos are rare in the Dominican Republic. No way I could have had one in my third floor apartment with no a/c! But I didn’t waste any time getting one now that Kevin and me are finally in a house.
However, the bad news was that it didn’t fit in the piano room!
Do you have any idea how nervous I was watching them move the piano? They were definitely experts, but I like could barely breathe. I had to close my eyes a few times!!! Anyhow, despite their best efforts, it couldn’t fit through the rounded doorway!! Boo!! Even when I told them that I just bought this house specifically so I could put a piano in that room (that’s true!! it was a big thing we were looking for in a house).
My solution is to get a second piano. I’m already too attached to this piano to give it up. Plus it looks GREAT in our living room and helps to cover up the fact that we have zero furniture. Guests can sit on the bench, right? All in all, it only cost me $150, and I totally don’t regret it.
Boyd had to jump up on the bench and sniff it out right away. It reminded me of a friend’s photo of her dog sniffing their new baby. Haha.
He’s still a little uneasy around it because he knows it has the capacity to make sudden, loud sounds. But I predict he’ll be curling up underneath it very soon!!
Last night’s Date Night:
Rosa Linda’s Mexican Cafe. Cute patio, right? Well, unfortunately, that was the best part.
We came in for two things: they advertise as being award Top 15 Nachos in the nation, and I liked their Smart Menu of healthier options.
I mean this in a loving way, but do these look like award-winning nachos??
Do you see how stale that chip on the left is? Zero fresh toppings. Shredded iceberg. Nothing groundbreaking here. I can’t imagine how they would win any award. To top it all off, one of the owners actually came up to us and asked us if they “lived up to the hype.”
We said nothing. Nada.
We had much better nachos at the Rockies game. Lol.
Veggie Ranchero: Strips of cactus, onions, and tomatoes sautéed with our fresh salsa served with a side of rice and beans.
Wasn’t I brave to try cactus? That’s so not like me. Lol. But it was pretty good! I really didn’t know which part was cactus and which was salsa. Was it the green stuff?? I don’t even know. The flavor was interesting, but I couldn’t really finish it all.
Things may have gone better if we had lower expectations, but even the chips and salsa they brought to the table when we arrived were really bad. Just really old chips and really not great salsa. I have to say that the owners were wonderful and we had great service, but I just can’t imagine going back ever.
We walked down the block to 32nd Treat for some fro yo to save the day! Chocolate Hazelnut, Vanilla Almond, and Salted Caramel definitely cheered me up. Sprinkles are a must. Afterwards, we hit up Super Target for some groceries.
I didn’t buy it, but I’ve been foolishly wanting this bag forever. I think it’s just the pom poms, right? I can’t actually ever see myself carrying it. Maybe if I was a mom who took her kids to the pool frequently. I rarely even carry a purse these days. If anything it’s a clutch. More often than not, it’s just my iPhone with all my cards stuffed in the case.
Off to play my piano. Have a wonderful Friday!!!!
Have you ever tried cactus? I guess I did last night! I just didn’t know which part it was exactly.
Do you usually carry a purse? I feel like I always have a clutch or a tote, but rarely anything in between. I guess I just need to work on my collection.
