Boyd and I really took it easy today. I was feeling sad plus I had a random bout of allergies. He has never gotten to spend so much time in bed. And then he thought he needed to do yoga with me. I should have just locked him out, but I was feeling a little lonely:
Boyd loves that mat. It’s like a magnet for him. Maybe because it matches him? Maybe it’s because he wants to lick my sweat off? I wasn’t in the mood for an exploratory run this morning so I put in a Jillian Michaels yoga dvd. Unfortunately, I had to do the level 1 workout since Kevin has the tv/dvd setup, but we don’t have dvd remote to make selections in the menu!! I’m not an overachiever who wants to do level 2 — it’s just SHORTER!
I never really got around to breakfast this morning so I was starving by the time I finished the yoga. A little English muffin with that coconut pb Earth Balance spread and some ugly fried eggs. I just can’t make them like Kevin does!!!
I’m pretty sure that I’m going to be eating a lot of the same now that I don’t get to eat lunch with Kevin any more.
We were so spoiled!!
I think I’ll just keep sweet potato fries on hand at all times now. I don’t think I’ll be able to convince myself to make them homemade for just myself. I see this reverting to daily pita pizzas like my best roommate ever and me did when we lived in the DR. I’m sure she’s shaping up to an excellent cook now that she’s married, but we really didn’t outdo ourselves when we were cooking for one!
One of the unexpected perks of living in a house as opposed to an apartment is that we no longer have to go to the office to pick up packages!!! Hooray!! This is wonderful for compulsive online shoppers!! I’m so excited that I got my stainless steel cleaner today! I ordered it from Mrs. Jones’ Soap Box a natural, eco-friendly shop on Etsy. It’s called Sparkle. I think it’s going to work perfectly. Once you buy the bottle, you can also purchase refills at her shop. I love it when Etsy shops send free samples!!
A bit later we got Kevin’s new Bento box!!!! I can’t wait to start making some little creations for his work lunches!! I really think I’m going to need some vegetable shape cutters. I also got some other little reusable things, but I think I’ll need a few more. We’ve been going through Ziploc baggies like crazy!
And then Kevin showed up this:
Happy Friday afternoon sighs! Kevin has TONS of homework to do for his LAST (only 6 more weeks!!) class ever, but I’m still happy just to be around him. We went for an extremely leisurely walk in the neighborhood, and spent some time hanging out with the neighbors we met last night. They are as sweet as can be, and their children are dolls!!
I have to share this find with you: 15 Exciting Finds to Help You Celebrate the Olympics. I’m trying to convince Kevin on the Olympic flag! I think it’d be perfect for our front porch!!
Hope you’re having a peaceful weekend, and I’m looking forward to meeting a blogger or two tomorrow at Fitness on the Rocks. Okay, if you really know me, you know I’m kind of dreading it in a way. I’m a shy hermit!!!! Blogs are for hiding behind. Just kidding. Kind of.
In case you missed it, I reblogged a post a bit ago about Responding to Tragedy.
Good night. xoxo

We have a smaller version of the Bento box for the kids’ lunches. I don’t do anything very fancy because then the kids won’t eat it. Don’t waste your money on veggie cutters, just get mini cookie cutters. They are way less expensive. We love Bentos! Oh, and rinse and reuse your plastic baggies. You will save lots of money and create much less waste/protect your carbon footprint.
Well, I bought this reusable bag thing… we’ll see how that works. Tomorrow is our first bento day!!! The cookie cutters is a good idea!! I don’t think Kevin will be a huge fan of the shapes anyways!!
I love that Olympic cookie cutter.
I’ve seen Zevia at my grocery store & have wondered how it tastes! I think they only sell it in a 6 pack though, so I’ve been hesitant to buy it in case I wasn’t crazy about it.
I love online shopping just a little too much! It can be quite dangerous! I do always get excited when something comes in the mail though
That picture of Boyd is adorable! You should do yoga with him all the time
What a cool box! That is really awesome. zevia is so good, definitely one of those guilty pleasure that I rarely have but love when I do.
Those bento boxes are SO cute- I love lunches with a bit of everything so these sets are ideal! Have you ever made sushi before? If not it’s a lot easier than it seems…I even bought a rolling mat but once I started, I didn’t really have a need for it! Quinoa also works well as a rice alternative if you are looking for variety!
I have tried to make eggs like my mom but I just can’t. I have no idea why but they never turn out the same way
You ordered a bento box?! as in, you’re going to make sushi?! I tried zevia about 3 years ago and didn’t like it at all. how does it compare to diet coke?
Sweet potato fries are the best! Especially with a little cinnamon sprinkled on them. Yum!
