Boyd was so not amused when I left for the gym this morning.
He’s so not a morning dog. And he doesn’t get to drink coffee! Poor thing! But apparently all furniture rules have gone out the window in our new house!! If we ever get any real furniture, there might be some pretty bloody battles!
Good morning, colorful kettlebells!! I love having some HEAVY weights available again!! I made a little remix WOD, but warmed up first with 1.10 mile jog.
15 Minutes AMRAP
- 10 Sumo Dead Lift High Pulls
- 10 Kettlebell See Saw Presses
- 10 Kettlebell Tactical Lunges
- 10 Crab Toe Touches
- 10 Box Jumps
I completed 4 rounds + the sumo dead lift high pulls. It was fun! There was no exercise in there that I dreaded doing. I used 30lbs for the sumos, and 20 for the seesaw presses. 20lbs in each hand was a lot for me so I took those a bit slower.
You guessed it. Afterwards, on tired legs no less, I felt the need to take a crack at that gym leader board. Result? 7:18. Oops. I blame this on the scrolling feature of the treadmill. I definitely could’ve brought that one in!! Oh well. Maybe I’ll try next time when I first get to the gym. It wasn’t an official try anyways. I’m not sure how you’re supposed to verify it or if it’s scout’s honor. I want to see iPhone footage of anyone who claims to beat my time. Lol.
On the way home, my clutch opened up in my bike basket and some change fell out (no credit cards!! I promise, Kevin). I picked up the dimes, but flipped the pennies over so someone could find a lucky one. Anyone else do this?
I let Boyd out to sunbathe for a while. He needs to get his natural highlights back! They’re so pretty! But he’s spent too much time indoors this year. He really like the a/c! Lol.
I ate lunch like a real adult today. I saw some Sugar Free Chocolate Pudding in the pantry and compelled to make it immediately.
And then I made the worst non-smoothie ever. I’m definitely not a good smoothie artist. It didn’t taste bad. It just was NOT a smoothie. I put in the coffee that was leftover in the pot, unsweetened coconut milk, Greek yogurt, and CLick protein powder. I drank quite a bit of it because I felt bad about eating pudding for lunch. I should go snack on some vegetables.
I’ve been having the worst computer day ever. My browsers keep crashing. I lost some pictures from my iPhone somehow? Sigh. All of a sudden nothing wants to cooperate with my poor old Macbook. But I’m not ready to give it up yet. I’m attached. The afternoon really got away from me since I was working on applying for a job. It’s a good possibility, but it’s so frustrating because you never know if you’ll really hear anything back. Okay, I have company coming over tonight so I’m out of here!!!
Here’s an important question:
Do you have company towels? Not yet!!! But I hope to be like Monica someday. Everyday use… Fancy… Guest… Fancy Guest…. 11!!!
Do you ever do timed miles/5ks/etc? Yeah. Because I don’t race often enough! But they’re not exactly enjoyable. Especially a mile. Yuck. I’d rather run 5. Lol.

Heheh your smoothie is so cute! I do the same thing
And I’m so happy you flipped over pennies
Haha! Monica’s towels! I love it. That show is the BEST.
Looks like an awesome workout! I don’t usually do timed miles but that’s a good idea to see progress & stuff!! P.S. I love your blog & your love for God <3
Haha your dog really gets natural highlights from the sun?! That’s too cute!
I love your idea of leaving lucky pennies on the ground. I am the person picking up all the pennies all the time. It’s impossible for me to pass one. And yay for joining the gym again, or are you testing it out? Either way, it looks fun!
I totally dropped and flipped a penny heads up tonight in the Walmart parking lot in St.Louis!!!!!! People here definitely need good luck!!!! Boyd is naughty and you need to enforce the rules. Dogs aren’t dumb OR incapable, just sneaky!
Good luck on the job application! It’s so frustrating if you don’t hear anything back after applying. If it’s a DPS job, I have two pieces of advice for you: 1) a week after you’ve filled out the application online, drop off your resume in person (you may have to leave it with an office staff person, but it still works). Then, a week after that (or just a few days after), call and ask to leave a message/talk to the principal. I know it says online they don’t want you to contact the school, but it really does work to drop off your resume or call. I got my job that way, and some other friends did, too.
That’s excellent advice!!! Lol. It can’t hurt since I haven’t been getting any calls!! Lol.
A good Friends reference is never lost on me.
He does look mighty amused! Good for you on that workout, looks great!
Thanks for posting your workout, with links! I want to try it out. I’m trying to do more strength and circuit training (& less cardio). But I need routines to follow–so thank you!
Nice work on the mile! I am so not a runner but will occasionally do timed miles/5K in CrossFit…only cause I have too
