I have to say that I really enjoyed my Sunday. It was wonderful! And I hope you had the best one ever too!
It didn’t hurt that it started out with my White Chocolate Coconut Godiva coffee.
Followed by my favorite yoga dvd.
And more coffee at church @ 11AM! Living the summer life!
Isn’t that coffee mug the sweetest thing? I know, I know. Taking pictures in church. I’m going straight to you-kn0w-where.
By the way, we’ve only visited this church twice, but I definitely got excited about the 5k they are sponsoring to benefit a local high school. What a cool idea. We signed up today. I think the race is a STEAL because it’s only $35 or $50 for a couple (or an entire family). Plus 100% of the money is going to a good cause. Not a portion of the proceeds — 100%. And I can respect that.
If you’re from the Denver area, you can sign up here. Plus, I’m excited to run a small local race. More chances for hardware! Kidding. I’m really not sure what type of awards they have, but it doesn’t hurt!
I managed to eat us out of house & home while Kevin was away so lunch was a bit random:
And the best place to put those random things is on top of a baked sweet potato.
Predictably, Kevin had a ton of homework to do so he got to work on that, and I went to the gym.
Love my new tank from Fire Daughter Clothing, but it’s definitely NOT Dri-Fit. Lol. I learned that the hard way. I ran 7.62 miles on the treadmill watching some Olympics!!!!!!! Oh boy. That did not go as planned. I’m not quite in the running shape I thought I was in. Why does this keep happening? I know that realistically it could also be partly because I’ve been a little over-zealous this week. I get very excited about working out at new gyms!!! I ran 4 miles @ 7:47 pace, but then had to slow down considerably. My goal was to run an hour. I did a bit over including the warm-up & cool-down. I’m going to spending some more time running come up here because I want to be in better shape for some races!!
By the way.. this tank sort of inspired my new blog header. Like it?
I scarfed a blueberry Fage when I got home, followed by some dried cherries & sunflower seeds. After that we headed out for a serious Super Target trip. We are NOT fans of Safeway!! Boo!!!! We miss King Sooper’s so much, but there are just none located conveniently to this area. I’m hoping to also make a quick Whole Foods trip sometime this week, but I kind of already spent my budget…
I know it doesn’t look like much, but this Skinny Chicken Tikka Masala is THE BEST!!! Hooray for Skinny Taste! I heard she’s working on a cookbook!!!!!! This is probably one of our favorite homemade dinners ever. That’s saying something because I cook quite a bit!! You won’t be surprised to find that it has Greek yogurt in it. And I always add cayenne pepper and extra spice. Burning lips never hurt anybody.
I ate ice cream tonight!! Brownie MooseJaw Tracks. Haha.
I typically would never even think of eating ice cream, especially at night. But tonight I thought — why on earth not??? I mean, seriously. I ran almost 8 miles today — besides biking almost that same amount. I grew up eating ice cream every day! It’s not going to kill me. And it’s not like on a specific diet or training program at the moment!!! Live a little, right??? It was delicious!!
What’s your favorite shirt to wear running/for a workout? I really like this one because of what it says, but probably my favorites are those Champion tanks (I have 3 now – lol). Apparently, workout attire is the only thing I will invest in. You should see my current flip-flops! Threadbare.
What’s your favorite Indian-inspired dish? I want to try cooking some more at home. I’ve also tried channa masala which we loved too.

i loooove homemade chicken tikka masala! it’s the only food i want to eat at the indian buffet so making it at home means i can gobble up seconds without judgemental eyes. well, except for alex’s haha. love the new header!
I have that tank on my “favorites” on etsy! Have yet to buy! What size did you get? I’m always nervous about buying from new shops online due to sizing!
I bought a small. It’s definitely a little smaller than your average small, but not too tight or short.
There’s a King Soopers at 38th and Sheridan that I loved when we lived in that area!
Love your tank!
Gah! I just wasted lots of time on the Skinny Taste website! Thanks a lot! haha. I’ve bookmarked quite a few recipes to try! I really like your new tank, I usually buy workout clothes at Target or Marshalls/TJMaxx. Such good deals. I’m thinking of buying a running skirt to prevent my shorts from riding. Maybe if I save enough pennies.
That mug is precious and I love the little chip on the rim.
THat is such a cool race idea. I’ll have to suggest it as a fundraiser. I manage to eat us out of house and home too… it’s normal (I tell myself this).
You did the header by yourself?! I’m impressed! Way to go! I, on the other hand, had to seek help before I turned into a wild beast. I love Gina also! So simple and delicious! And skinny!
I’m a HUGE fan of NUX. They go on sale at Ruelala from time to time, so I make sure to snatch some while supplies last (they go fast)!
Need to try that indian dish! I rarely cook indian food at home, but trader joe’s sells a palak paneer in a bag that is delicious!
You should try it!! It was so simple, and really delicious!
I am so glad you enjoyed the ice cream. You just have to go with what you want sometimes.
Love the new header!! So cute
I love my Skirtssports tank tops. So comfortable, and they have a little storage pocket for my keys.
And, I hate shopping . . . except for workout clothes. lol. then it’s fun.
cute shirt! i think my favorite tops are nike tanks…of course i only have 1 or 2 because they’re pretty expensive in my opinion. i’m also very happy wearing old beat up cotton tanks. whatever works!
