Only 1 To Make A Difference

Menchie’s signs are so inspirational.

Also inspirational? Watching people do the 100 meter dash to make it in there before it closes at 10PM. Fro yo is a huge motivator!!

 

New flavor tonight — blackberry!! Mixed with some strawberry shortcake, dulce de leche, and cake batter.

Run 6 x 800s (.49 miles) + 2 minutes recovery

Ouch. That was tougher than I expected. I covered 4 miles including the recovery time, jogged a half mile of stairs, and then booked it home. I’m not liking the way this looks for my 5k on Saturday. I think my time is going to be ugly.

 

Still turning into a sweet potato!! With leftover grilled chicken tenders.

 

The poor, deprived Boykin pleading for a bite. (Yes, I ate in bed. 2PM lunches in bed are becoming quite the habit these days).

Why he didn’t get a bite:

 

Look at that face. Trying to convince me he hasn’t been doing anything wrong. Yeah, right!!!!

We were invited over to some friends’ house tonight so I got the easy job making the salad.

 

A little tomato + mozz + basil for some caprese flavor. And done!!

They live seriously less than 2 blocks away. I am so loving this! After we enjoyed a delicious dinner (chicken parm!), they  brought out some games:

 

Animal Upon Animal is actually a game designed for Pre-K, but we definitely had a blast playing it. I was, by far, the worst player and managed to knock the entire structure over several times. Kevin dominated the first game! No one exactly won round two, but we got it impressively high! I think it would be an awesome classroom game! I was thinking of so many ideas for it while we were playing.

And now for the big news: I’m going to fitmixer BOOT CAMP!! It’s starts on my birthday, September 10th!!

 

I read about a lot of bloggers doing it, and it sounded like so much fun! I was dying to try it. Plus I want to try that protein! :) It wouldn’t hurt if I lost a few vanity/training pounds along the way. It will definitely help to be consistently committed for 8 weeks. I’m totally motivated by peer pressure!!

My cuñada, Lisa! Unfair picture, I know. She’s pregnant!! Lol. But now she’s not! And I have a baby niece to show for it! (Plus two nephews!) I wanted a friend to do it with me, and I knew she wanted to get back into working out. I figured this was the perfect way to do it. I totally did not have permission to post this, but I’m sure she’ll consider it an honor. Haha.

By the way, if you’re curious, as I understand it, the boot camp is all online. You can read more about it on their website, but you get set up with an RD, they send you at-home workouts, and there’s a lot of fun & accountability. Can’t wait to get cracking! I guess I’ll be eating my birthday cake on September 9! But we’ll be svelte for the holidays. I think there’s still spots open if you’d like to join!! You get a ton of awesome products just for signing up, and who wouldn’t want more interaction with me?  :)

    Oooh Menchies… it’s funny- my massage therapist told me yesterday that it takes so many more muscles to frown that it does to smile (I can’t remember the exact number).
    I hope you love bootcamp! The workouts are AWESOME.

  9. Playing a pre-K game as an adult- love it! (and I’m not being sarcastic, I really do love it!) …..Oh heavens, I bet I would be a much better runner if fro-yo was at the end of a race!! :)

  10. yum sweet potato fries! glad to see you are enjoying froyo, it’s my favorite food. yes i did a bootcamp! i only lasted a couple weeks because it was interfering with my running schedule. i just can’t commit to organized stuff like that, i can barely keep my exercise in order when it’s just me!

  12. I love that tank! I have never done any sort of boot camp but wish I had time to. I also haven’t had froyo in way too long. My priorities are all messed up, haha.
