This morning did not start off well. We got Kevin James all shipped out to work on time, but not fifteen minutes later, I hear Boyd start gagging.
When Boyd starts gagging, you best start running! We were in the bedroom so I made a beeline for the door. Boyd is usually pretty good about following in these emergency circumstances. He made it out to the living room. But it was too late.
Now I hate puke so I’m not going to give you TMI. Although I was tempted to take a picture. This only happens when Kevin is not around so I didn’t know if he would believe me about the VOLUME of puke without photographic evidence. But I couldn’t breathe in the fumes so I skipped it. I did, however, throw a full cup of water directly in Boyd’s face to get the puke off his mouth. And maybe because I was a little frustrated.
Yeah, I cleaned it up. Kevin wasn’t going to be home for another ten hours so that responsibility fell on the poor stepmother who gets no love. Meanwhile Boyd was eating things in the backyard. Awesome. I locked him in the bathroom. I checked on him a few minutes later. There was evidence he had puked again. And eaten it. Gross.
I needed to get out of the house ASAP. Boyd is extremely frustrating in these situations because he’s always trying to escape and/or wipe his dirty face all over you. I’m not ready to be a parent, am I?
I read some of my book (because it’s so good, I’ll forgive them this once for decorating a women’s book with butterflies) and read everyone’s morning blogs. Yes. Every blog on the internet.
Eventually the caffeine kicked in, and I decided life was worth living again. Even if I have to live with Boyd. So I went to the gym. There were some track prelims going on so I had to watch those for a while, and jogged out a nice 1.3. I have no idea how I got myself worked up to do this workout:

- 400m run
- 25 squats
- 400m run
- 25 situps
- 400m run
- 25 high sumos 45/65
- 400m run
- 25 pushups
- 400m run
- 25 burpees
I had done this workout once before, but had conveniently forgotten the second round, finishing in 18:45. Today I did the whole thing, and it took me an agonizing 42:04. I wasn’t sure how I was going to make it the 2 miles home from the gym after I finished that last set of burpees.
Perhaps I could have gone a little faster if I hadn’t kept knocking down those stupid yellow balls!! They were in my direct path between treadmill & mat. They are surprisingly difficult to get balanced on that thing. I wanted t to kick them. And then a trainer knocked them over. And I had to pick them up because it was bothering me. Lol.
Guess what inspired me? The video I saw yesterday of Lil Kate herself doing 100 burpees in 4:54! Let’s put that in perspective. I once did 56 burpees in 7 minutes. Granted, that was the first time I had ever done a real burpee, and I could probably do better now. Now I will be faced with timing myself doing 100 burpees. I won’t be able to stop thinking about it until I do it. I’ll wait till Kevin is come to count and/or call 911.
I’m off to make dinner. But first, don’t you think I NEED some Hunter Boots to wage war against Boyd’s puke? My feet need to be protected!!
That’s only going to cost Kevin $125 which I think is a small price to pay for bad Boykin care. I know you are going to say in the comments poooor Boyd! Lol. I need some sympathy too!!! And some boots!
Update on Boyd: Quarantined but seems to be improving in spirits.
Does anyone have the Hunter boots? I could have sworn I once saw them in pink? No? Just yellow? But don’t get confused. I’m not thinking about fall. I hope it never comes.

Dog puke is nasty! When I hear the sound that preludes it I RUN to get Cooper outside as fast as I can. 90% of the time I’m too late.
Awww poor puking puppy. I’m terrible in those situations. I don’t know how I’ll ever be a mom.

aw but look at his sweet face!!!! bama gets in throwing up phases, not sure what it is. the kicker is that we are watching the most annoying dog right now…and it decided to have a burst/infected anal gland on our watch and i had to take him ot the vet! SO AWFUL. thankfully mark is taking care of most of it!
Ick… puppy puke. You never know what things you’ll find half digested in that stuff. Thanks for saving us the TMI, but with two pups of my own, I can only imagine.

I had a dog puke experience this weekend, it wasn’t super awful but I’m pretty sure I’m not ready to be a parent either! Hope you and Boyd are doing better!
oh man I can only imagine how much there was. My dogs are so small the puke piles aren’t all that horrible. Guinness is SO FUNNY when he pukes, he goes to the corner of whatever room and pukes in the corner. So considerate. He does it EVERY time.
Ugh, my cat does that when he gets anxiety (he has separation anxiety). He makes this sound like a crying baby and then sprints to the litter box so sometimes we don’t have to clean it up.
I hate sick puppies!! Too bad you always have to clean it up. Next time Kevin is home, slip Boyd some hydrogen peroxide.
100 burpees in less than 5 minutes? Is she super-human? Jeez. I need to work on mine cuz I’m NOWHERE near that level. I did 50 burpees today mixed in with other exercises and I thought I was going to die.
