Pippa Cordelia

We brought home our little baby doll tonight! Pippa Cordelia Kreisel.

I am thoroughly smitten!!!!

It’s been a little crazy around here tonight so this will be brief.

Siblings! This was probably the proudest moment of our evening when we got them both to sit. They are both VERY excited.

And the rivalry has begun!

We totally thought everything would be fine because Boyd loves other dogs, and Pippa is a high energy, good-natured, puppy. However, Pippa just spayed this week and had some vet work done so she’s a little sore. She actually bled a tiny bit when she first got here. I think from the excitement and from all the bouncing around. Therefore, we need to keep Boyd from jumping all over. Oh boy.

Working on establishing the pecking order!

But they can unite themselves towards one goal:

Trying to sneak out of that fence!

Working on putting some meat on the poor girl’s bones!

Finally, we have a dog who knows how to fetch and play with toys. Of course, all of a sudden Boyd the Boykin is interested in those toys that he hasn’t touched for months!

Boyd is also acting like he loves me. Jealous much? That’s not even believable!!! His big male ego personality is really shining through tonight. That came out of nowhere. Usually he’s such a lazy pansy.

Not sure how the sleeping situation is going to work out tonight. Boyd has gotten into the habit of sleeping in this tiny nook between my side of the bed and the wall. But I want Pippa with me!! And I’m not sure how she will do even sleeping in there?

Her foster mom told us she was house trained. Not surprisingly she’s already had two accidents. Haha. Luckily, I was prepared for it from cleaning up Boyd’s disgusting puke last week. I think she will be perfectly fine once she figures out what’s going on. I’m going to have a busy day tomorrow with those two!!!! I can’t wait for them to be BFFs. And then they will probably both ignore me.

Obedience school begins tomorrow! Any tips? I need to get some treats ready!!!

  2. OMG you got a dog!!! I love her & her name!

  3. OMG so so so cute!! LOVE how Boyd has changed his personality, our one cat seems to get jealous and playful when we focus too much attention on the other one — you can’t tell me that animals don’t get jealous! :)

love love love everything about this post. I had the same thing…had Guinness for like a year and then brought home Chole. SUCH a change in dynamic. So much fun. I loved watching how it all changed and how they got jealous and acted differently with another dog around. best decision ever though, I want to always have two dogs.

  5. My dog gets super jealous when another dog visits. It is kind of adorable though.

So fun! When we brought our 2nd dog home from the humane society this past February, we made sure to bring my dog to play first and see how they got along. It was really important to me because I have had Mikaya since she was 7 weeks and now she is 8 years. They will get adjusted and be great. Glad you are doing training classes! Those will be lifelong lessons. Have fun!

Sometimes after dogs get fixed, they revert back to not being able to control their bladders for a bit (that’s what our vet told me). She’ll get better! Boyd looks like he’s just as smitten as you!! :) have fun!!

  8. Mom says:

LOl, and who lets Jack jump up on them? It’s not Corrie.

  9. MORE PHOTOS! I’m so excited for your new family member!! :D

  10. What a sweet little girl! Hope the siblings can enjoy each other and have ton of fun together!

You have to not tolerate the behavior you don’t want….correct and redirect, immediately. If you don’t want her, or him!, to jump on you say “down” not “no”. They’re just like kids…you gotta draw the line and expect them to stay on their side, but they’ll test you any chance they get to see if you’re for real. Some dogs (Jack) can be more stubborn (Jack)! Good luck with them today!!!!!! They do look cute together and maybe she will teach Boyd how to follow commands!

  12. What a sweet puppy! Just got one of my own and am definitely spending a ton of time training and doling out many treats :)

  13. The first picture of you and Pippa is really cute. How exciting–I predict lots of good time (and good stories) ahead! Congrats!

  14. cute!! i can’t imagine taking care of two dogs but sounds like you have it completely under control… :) good luck!
