Running = Happiness And/Or Babies?

Thank you to Lora @ Crazy Running Girl for saving the day by fixing whole shoe dilemma.

The Sweat Pink shoelaces she sent me really helped brightened up the drab grey color!! I just couldn’t wait to exchange them since my toe was literally poking out of my other shoes!!!

DailyMile says I ran 36 miles this week. The vast majority of them were with Pippa!! She’s an athlete.

Good news for her: read in line at Sunflower Market today!

Yay! Happy Pippa!!!

Maybe that’s why Boyd is so grumpy!! But he’s the worst to run with!

Bad news for me:

Uh oh!!!! The good news is that burpees are probably considered “vigorous.” And I do plenty of them!

This afternoon we left Boyd in a box:

And went to check out the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. This was not my idea. But since 95% of all ideas of things to do are mine, I try to go along with the 5% of inspiration that comes from Kevin.

A biker went by about every 3 minutes. So. Exciting.

But I had an idea to make it more exciting!

Best iPhone app ever!!!!!!! I had so much fun with it. My only regret was that I couldn’t make it go any louder.

Other than that, the most exciting part of the outing was running into Lena! Thanks for stopping to say hi!!!!!  Denver is smaller than you think!

I had my own cycling challenge biking back up to the Highlands. Sigh. As I always say — they’re called the Highlands for a reason!

Kevin rewarded my efforts with some 32nd Treat! They won my heart by giving me free fro yo at the gym and at the Firehouse 5k. Plus the almond vanilla is going to keep me coming back!!!! They had a Nutella flavor, but it was out of order. Another trick to keep me going back… especially after biking to it today and realizing how close it is to my gym!!

That’s the face of someone who didn’t do any homework today!! Woohooo!!! We had a little extra celebration revisiting Highlands Asian Grill.

I am never changing my order. I love the Spicy Basil Chicken! The lunch portion is more manageable size… but I clean my plate either way!!

I hope you enjoyed every minute of your weekend! :)

Do you notice a runner’s high? Or workout high? I think the same thing can be achieved with other types of intense workouts as well! Working out definitely helps me get some perspective if I’m freaking out about something or cranky. And it helps Pippa not be super annoying at home

Which do you find easier? Running or biking? I find biking so difficult!!!! Maybe it’s because I’m generally biking with Kevin. He’s got like built-in biker legs. Seriously. Some excellent genes in that department because he hasn’t even been working on them. I’m almost certain I can run up hills faster than I can bike up them!

What’s your favorite iPhone app that’s not Instagram or a running app? The cowbell. Obviously. That could come in handy for so many occasions!

    I thought of you yesterday when I saw this LivingSocial deal – http://www.livingsocial.com/cities/858/deals/251930-one-month-of-unlimited-crossfit-classes – for unlimited Crossfit for a month in Castle Rock. Thats kind of near you, right? {Yeah, I’ve lived here a year and know jack squat, don’t judge}

And running had better just give me happiness…should probably go do some speedwork just to be sure!

Soo.. that’s close to where we used to live before we got our house… now it would be a crazy long drive. boo!! there are 2 boxes in my vicinity… hopefully one of them will have a special!!!

  4. I LOVE spicy basil chicken. I’m glad I ran into you on Sunday (almost literally) even though I felt like a total creepo haha!

  5. WOW! your shoes look like new! pretty pink laces!! are you ready to ship boyd off? hhehhee Biking is easier for me but I never do it. Weird. haha

  6. Brittany says:

I lovee the laces! YAHOO! I find biking easier, but I run a lot more. HA.

  7. Alysha @Shesontherun says:

Congrats on running 32 miles in a week! That is quite an accomplishment. I ran 10 yesterday and besides the sore muscles, I definitely notice the runner’s high. Which is probably why I run :)

  8. I definitely have more trouble running than biking! No matter what I always lose my breath running and I never have that problem on a bike! Any excuse not to run ;)

  9. ahahahaha cowbell!!! love it. going to download right NOW!

  10. Runners high is so true! It lasts a good few hours for me.

  11. Lately my favorite app is Pandora – keeping my workout music fresh. Oh, and there’s the Radio Espana app that keeps me connected to Spain.

  12. Oh man, Oreo DEFINITELY gets a runner’s high. He LOVES to run so much. :)

  13. This post totally gave me a muc-needed giggle on Monday morning. Especially the Boyd-in-a-box photo :D

  14. LOL. Love the photos from the Sunflower Market magazine. You’re too funny :) You never know… I am enjoying running lately. I detest biking. Yuck!!

  15. I just got a new app to organize our wine. It’s nice to have a list that we can go to that tells us what’s in the house, gives ratings and reviews and even tells you when it would be best to drink. We love it so far (just got it two weeks ago–but was impressed when I set it up). It’s called Cor.kz

  16. Can you believe I don’t know how to bike…and I’m 24…yikes! For that reason, I am going to have to say running is easier! I rather be out of breath than left with bruised knees from falling off the bike. I almost ALWAYS get a runner’s high but then again, I also get a walker’s high too…as long as I’m moving, the endorphins find some way to make an appearance!!

  17. Got to get the cowbell app! That’s a great one.

We have this app (can’t think of the name right now) that tracks your sleep pattern. You activate it and put it by your pillow, and it tells you how long and deep you slept (based on movement I think). Coolest app ever! Other than the flashlight, which I’m always using because I never sleep! Ha!

    • Corrie Anne says:

I know! I keep thinking I should have the flashlight app!! I’m always just using my phone and it’s not bright enough! The sleep one sounds good too. I’ve been wanting a fitbit for that reason.
