These cookies were so easy to make that they really didn’t deserve their own post.
But they’re still super cute. They tasted like those cookies you buy in a tube! But without having to pop that scary top!
I used the Taste of Home recipe for Drop Sugar Cookies. I dipped a few in chocolate because I knew Kevin James would like that.
For myself — I liked them with ice cream.
Actually half that cookie went to Pippa. I’m really not that much of a cookie person. I tried to get Kevin to have an ice cream cookie sandwich, but he passed on it! Weirdo!
I took Pippa Cordelia for a little shorter run today after all her plopping in the shade action yesterday – we covered about 3 miles. Apparently I didn’t wear her out ENOUGH today because while I was showering, she felt the need to drop her tennis ball in for me to throw. That’s just desperate.
Today was the day that I decided Pippa’s stitches were healed enough that I could try picking her up. She DIDN’T SQUIRM A BIT! Isn’t that crazy? My little cutie has complete confidence in me. She’s seen my burpee muscles!! Lol.
One of the perks of meetings with new clients is that I’m not in pjs when Kevin gets home from work. My prospective piano parent didn’t actually show up for her meeting tonight, but instead she called to schedule a first lesson. Better yet! I also got two additional adult students + another elementary student + 2 possible elementary students just today!! Business is rolling in now that school is starting, and I’m elated. I think I’m going to have enough adult students for them to have their own “recitals.” I’m envisioning Schubert living room sessions!!
Business to-do list:
- studio bulletin board
- business cards <— I can’t believe those aren’t done yet
- Composer of the Month Spotify playlist
- client spreadsheet
- piano lamp
- additional seating for parents
- I need a clock because I hate for lessons to end!
- what to do to with the dogs during lessons
- read every single biz ladies post on D*S
Today when I had the dogs locked up, they ate my mascara!!! My one piece of makeup, and they destroyed it. I don’t even know who to blame because I came in and they each had one end in their mouth. I never thought to hide that when I was dogproofing! Today I got Paypal set up for my website which was a little tricky, but I’ve already had parents asking me to pay with credit card so I’m glad I got it done. I also worked on several additional social networking strategies. Those things are time sucks, but they are working!!!!
Finally, a blogger using paint color samples for their intended purpose. Over the weekend the living room is going to be vanilla ice creamed and the dining room is going to be perfect peached! I can’t wait! Finally, I own my own home and get to paint rooms colors like pink and orange!
What color would you most like to paint a room? I really want a pink kitchen. But I just don’t think it’s going to happen with those green countertops. BOO!!!!
What’s the most exciting thing on you to-do list this weekend? Everything for the piano studio! Best job ever. I hope it keeps going so well.
Do you have a business card? Not yet… I really should!!! I’m just indecisive and take forever to decide on things.

Those cookies look delicious. I love how your dog dropped the ball in your shower
dogs are the absolute BEST !
I love holding dogs
that is so great Corrie that you are gettin more and more clientele! I went back to work today, so Im super jealous of you and your at home business!!!
Thank you for linking to that Design Sponge website! I love it! You always know all the fun blogs – are there any other good home design ones that you like?!
Yay for more students! And I agree on vistaprint for business cards….
I would second this Vistaprint suggestion!
Mmmm those look yummy! can’t wait to see the new place once painted. take pictures!! I can’t believe they ate your mascara. haha
You go, girl! You’re just raking in the piano students!
I really want to paint one of our spare rooms a nice turquoise & then decorate with lots of black & white.
Lots of excitement here this weekend; we have a wedding tonight & then I have a bridal shower/bachelorette party tomorrow. Plus, I just got done with about 5 hours of baking. Whew!
I actually just got brand new business cards for my recent promotion, which reminds me, I should probably blog about that!
Happy painting!!
I am sooo excited about your piano students!! This is fabulous news!
awesome! your biz is kicking butt. go you. haha pippa looks like she is totally calm. not even a bent leg.
Oh and I must add, that’s SO cute about them with your mascara (I know, they were naughty — but I can just picture each looking at you with eyes like “what?” with half the mascara in their mouth — haha).
So so so exciting that you are getting so many students!! That’s awesome!! Print your business cards at Vista Print, super cheap and fast shipping!
I love when dogs stare at their toys like this, so adorable! Love the yellow colors.
Woohoo! That’s awesome that your business is picking up. Have you reached out to local schools? You could maybe e-mail music teachers your info in case they have parents asking them for recommendations for outside lessons! Seriously though, that’s awesome that things are picking up.
Fridays on your blog totally make me want a cookie!!! Congratulations on the growing business! I know the start is not easy so make sure you celebrate everything!!!
I LOVE color….so with that said my kitchen is a shade of green right now, family room (my fav.)a rusty “fall” orange, my living room a maroon and taupe…upstairs bathroom chocolate brown and our personal bathroom is red….we let the kids pick their colors and Owen’s room is army green, Kenzie has purple and Nicole’s is kind of a violet gray…with all that color going on you would think its crazy but it all works..
I’ve had business cards for teaching for awhile, but I recently got business cards for health coaching….which was really exciting! Probably because I got to create them versus just getting whatever the school made for me.
Congrats on all the new leads! You’re going to be so busy you won’t know what happened!!! Happy weekend!
So so thrilled for you that business is booming!
that’s awesome! have fun painting and decorating YOUR house. It is so fun!
Congrats on the new clients- that’s exciting…and very cool you play the piano (had no idea)! I actually have 2 sets of business cards: one which for my actual job and another with my social media details …I won’t lie but whipping them out every so often makes me feel kinda legit
