2 miles with peppy Pippa C. this morning.
We ran past this heart garage. Isn’t it super cute?
Pippa is really after the squirrels these days. She’s awesome with people (whereas Boyd is a total trainwreck); she calmly lets strangers pet her. But squirrels and other dogs? No such luck. Although I will say, she protects me from the scary park geese!!!
The dogs and I slept in a little bit this morning.
Some more than others.
Boyd stretches & yawns for at least 20 minutes in the morning. Pippa is already tearing around the room, ready to seize the day!
After two “rest days” over the weekend, I’ve had a hard time wanting to BRING IT at the gym this week. But I mentally talked myself into it.
Today’s WOD:
Warm-up: Bike 2 miles to the gym + Tic-tocs!
- Run 1 mile (7:05)
- 50 burpees
- 75 kettlebell swings
- 100 sumo dead lift high pulls
I used 25lb kettlebells for today’s workout — not sure of my overall time. I forgot to stop the timer. Woops. That never happens. I guess I was just ready to go home.
I taught Boyd a new “trick” today. He usually doesn’t do well with being picked up — he totally freaks out. But he likes this carry. Especially when I took him to look out the window.
The puppy daddy wanted to try it too!! Awwwwa!! Pippa was a little jealous, but she doesn’t so well with this carry. She’s so slender there’s nothing to grab on to!!
We had spaghetti squash again for dinner!! I just made it with regular spaghetti sauce.
Can you tell what we’re shopping for!??! Trust me, the cashier commented. Lol.
Check out MY spreadsheet:
Those are clickable links to the recipes, my friends. I think I have everything I need!
What’s your favorite kind of milk? I think I already asked about cookies. I’m loving dark chocolate almond milk.. but I’m generally deterred from drinking it by the sugar content.
Do rest days energize you or demotivate you? Both. It felt so good, but yet going back was painful!!
If your pet was different animal, what would they be?
Boyd = bear cub
Pippa = deer or gazelle

Haha, I often have a similar-looking shopping cart when stocking up on cupcake supplies. I’ve never had a cashier comment, but I know they have to be thinking “Has this woman ever heard of diabetes?!”
Rest days definitely demotivate me. I allow myself to rest for an entire day, thinking “I need this day”, and then it’s SOOO hard to get motivated the next day. I work really messed up hours sometimes so that makes it even more difficult. Some days my body just can’t function because it’s so confused on when it is supposed to sleep!
What a cute pup! Just read through a lot of your blog here….i’m a newby
I admire your determination in fitness. Hoping to spark some of that motivation in my own life! Ugh…it’s tough! But you make it look fun!
Haha my Pippa goes into full-on crazy dog at 7 on the dot every morning…. she doesn’t believe in sleeping in either!
so organized. haha
OK, love the puppy pics. I am living vicariously through you, because I want a puppy!!
I think if my cat were a different animal, one of them would be a seal. The way he lays sometimes, I swear he reminds me of a seal. It is too funny!
Boyd is just too adorable!!
Aww Boyd is so cute, haha! Glad you found a way to carry him that works for everyone.
Good luck with all of the baking!! Kostas would be a white lion!
I love that picture of the dogs — Boyd stretching and Pippa jumping around. So cute! Your party is going to be so good, I’m excited for you!
oh my gosh! i always say kona would be a bear cub too. or an otter or seal because of her whiskers and pathetic little seal-eye face.
Grizzly would def be a bear.So would Mikaya but a soft cuddly teddy bear.Griz has issues on walks with squirrels, bunnies and other dogs.we are training him hardcore at the moment.
Best shopping trip right there! I want your dogs, they make me gush each morning.
Our 4 mo. old mini dachshund would totally be a squirrel! He just dashes around like one and I believe if we had a tree that he could climb to get our cats he would do so very willingly.
Oh my gosh, that photo of Boyd stretching out on the bed. I didn’t realize it at first, but you can totally see Pippa’s reflection in the mirror and she’s obviously ready to go!
Also, Trader Joe’s has a good price on vanilla extract
Your dogs are too cute! If Sophie my puppy was another animal she would totally be a cat, she likes to “dig” with her paws when she has an energy burst and reminds me so much of a cat!
Ha! I thought you drew the heart using a photo program when I first looked at it! Too funny!
My favorite milk is unsweetened vanilla almond. Poured over a bowl of fruit is so good, but it’s also great for baking. However I’ve never had a dark chocolate version….my guess is that’s even better!
Haha love that shopping trolley- you must be so pysched about the party tomorrow! I love plain 0% milk (or 2%) but if I’m drinking coffee, I rather add in soy milk- something to do with the flavor! Rest days leave me energised but rest weeks are another story!
Spaghetti squash…good idea! It’s been so long since I’ve made that. Must do that soon. Not working out is great for me when I have the chance to actually rest on the rest days.
