Dog Destruction + A Pippa Backpack!

I know my dogs are cute, buuuut they are still definitely adjusting to me having people in our house teaching piano lessons. I have to lock them in our bedroom (the farthest from the piano) to minimize their noise level while I’m trying to teach. But yesterday, a student made the ultimate mistake… she rang the doorbell. That was a DEAD GIVEAWAY to the dogs that we had company.

Mass destruction ensued.

Pippa’s contribution:

Poor cupcake pillow. Also, our bed was made, and when I came in all the blankets and pillows were on the floor.

Boyd’s retribution method of choice:

It was on the inside of the door so I didn’t notice it until bedtime. THAT’S MY BEAR CUB!!

I think I’m going to disable our doorbell. The dogs have been a little riled every time, but nothing compared to this. Don’t worry, we’re not going to let them destroy the house. That was Pippa’s pillow, and it’s fixable. And the door… well… Kevin talks every day about replacing those anyhow, and it’s in a pretty inconspicuous place. However, we may be fixing them a room of their own in the basement sometime soon, those little twerps! I totally thought I had the room dog-proofed!!!

That  said, there’s only so long you can stay made at my bad dogs.

I had a few lessons yesterday and committed the time in between to working on my biz. I designed my business cards, responded to tons of emails (scheduling first lessons is a nightmare!!), and contacted some local schools. The emails seem like they take forever to write! That’s because I wordsmith them all very carefully – not something you see a lot of on this blog!

I also sent out a letter to someone really awesome. Isn’t my mail slot cute? It was a selling point on the house. But mail gets stuck outside a lot! Also, our mail comes very late here. The other day it came at 7:15, and it regularly comes after 6PM! One more thing — biking home from the gym the other day I a saw a mailman drop some mail!!!!! I was so shocked by it. He eventually discovered it and picked it up, but it made me distrust the postal service. Haha, and that’s all the info I have for you on the USPS today!

I also received some awesome mail yesterday:

Birthday gift from Kristy!!! I can’t wait to wear that necklace she crafted for me. I think it’s the perfect piano teacher look + Lululemon shopping and socks I will KILL boyd if he eats. It would be just like him to get the good socks.

We had a quick date night over at Billy’s Inn and then I had some work done to get done for the party tonight!!! Kevin helped with a few things in the yard. Good thing he has a headlamp!

Good news! I have something for you to waste the rest of your Friday work day on while I slave away in the kitchen making the ultimate Cookie Friday!!

BEST OFFICE SUPPLIES ever. Kevin never understands why I can’t make a decision about little things like pencils in the store. That’s because you never know when something like poppin will come into your life! These are BRIGHT office supplies that you can sort by color. What if I had bought a plain old stapler? I’d be so sad. Haha. I saw this shop in a magazine while we were in line at the grocery store last night buying mascara. I was getting desperate!

What’s your favorite office supply? Pencils and notebooks. Post-its!

What should I buy from Lululemon? Maybe I should get something to help me brave the winter with Pippa. She’s going to still need exercise!!
