I was so proud of Kevin today when he said he wanted to both go to the gym and take the dogs hiking.
But then he confessed that it was just because he wanted to watch football!! Haha. I would have never known if he hadn’t said anything. I was planning to take today off because it’s a boot camp off-day, so I just did a mile on the arc trainer and a mile of stairs.
It’s better than sitting on the couch, right?!
Typical weekend lunch! A little taco-y salad.
We’ve been wanting to take the dogs out for a little romp in nature! Even the Boykin made it a whopping 1.3 miles!!
I just Googled some nearby parks and came up with Crown Hill Park.. It seemed to have limited WILDlife so that’s a definite plus. It was a quick drive over and we loved the trails! It’d be fun to run there without the dogs… or just with Pippa anyways.
Boyd felt the need to take a series of breaks… including on park benches!
He also made his mark on my leg:
SUPER SLOBBER!!!!
I did some Sunday setup for Week 2 of Fitmixer Boot Camp!!
Look at the horrifying scene in front of Sprouts:
Poor, spilled candy corn! I would cry if I spilled that candy corn!
And then I went home and spilled the flour!! Boyd did his best to help me clean it up!
Dinner was Janetha’s pumpkin mac ‘n’ cheese — thanks to a blog commenter for suggesting it! I needed to use up the cottage cheese brand I disliked, and this was the perfect recipe!
Okay, you convinced me!
NY Cheesecake + Pistachio!!! I did my best to keep my portion size conservative.
I wanted some more after I finish, but I resisted the urge to go back in for some more “samples.”
Matchies!!!
Good night, and I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
What do you like to watch at the gym? Well, the OLYMPICS was the best, but otherwise I am usually watching HGTV. They had the best show about Living Abroad on the other day! They should do an episode on the Dominican Republic! A lot of the time, I don’t watch anything if I’m doing some type of circuits or speed workout.
How will you celebrate THE LAST WEEK OF SUMMER?! It’s still summer, people!!! I’m thinking a pedicure may be in order!

Haha! I go to the gym in the afternoons specifically because I know Friends will be on, haha! And I love that froyo sign. If I saw that I would totally go for it too.
haha! we were going to ditch cable… and then i found out last friday that instead of calling to cancel, alex ADDED the sports package! so now we get sunday football with no commercials.
I don’t go to the gym. No money. I work out in the comforts of my own home with just plain old music. boring, I know.
This is so cheesy, but I love watching action movies while I’m on cardio machines!
That’s awesome!
I’m curious what the ccheese brand is that you don’t like. I just tried Daisy for the first time and think it’s kind of sour-tasting.
UMMM do you also love candy corn?!?!? COULD IT BE? I love it but no one gets it!! So delicious.
Oye.. I need a pedicure badly! And those self-serve fro-yo places are dangerous. They are so evil not giving any small cups!
You guys DEFINITELY need to take advantage of living where you do and HIKE MORE!!! You know how jealous I am!
So cute! You guys are an adorable couple!
So obsessed with your dogs! And your gym looks awesome!
haha oh Boyd!!!
when i used to go to the gym i would catch up on my sitcoms
what a fun weekend, some family time is alway s the best. pumpkin mac n cheese, holy crap!
My Sunday was not that varied this week–it was rainy in Ft Worth, so we mostly just hung out (and listened to our kids complain about being bored).
Anyway! I almost exclusively watch the Food Network while working out and really do get great ideas/tips and inspiration for my weekly menus. Sometimes, though, it really just makes me hungry. Probably not the best thing while I’m actually exercising.
Looks like a perfect Sunday! Poor Boyd got a great workout in
I’m so sad it’s the last week of summer! I’m going to need to spend it outside to celebrate!
A Cherry Berry just opened a couple of miles from our house…is it sad that we already wrote that on the calendar as a “to do” for next Saturday after a certain girls CC meet? ha!
We grilled last night to keep in summer mode.
Today is the transition day for us…..we’re going apple picking! Totally a fall activity but I’m excited.
I would totally go to the gym to watch football too- Kevin has the right idea! I used to watch cooking shows in college when I got to work out at a gym….. Awesome reason for fro yo! I *totally* would have gone for it!!!
I am so jealous of all you who have TVs on the cardio machines! We have only one TV in our gym which is in the weights area!
