Monday is Library Day!!
I wonder if my mom went today! My family has been going to the library on Mondays forever and ever! We need to refresh our stockpiles after the weekend. I’ve only been procrastinating on going to a library in this part of town because obtaining a new library card requires human interaction. And I always procrastinate on errands that require human interaction! They should probably make a vending machine for library cards!
Sure enough, they trusted me to get a library card, but only a provisional one since I didn’t have enough proofs of address. Sticklers!!
I laughed because when the guy gave me my new card, he automatically asked me how much computer time I wanted! I was confused! Computer time? I want books!!!!
I was only allowed 3 books with the provisional card. It’s a lot of pressure to choose only three!!! But maybe it will prevent late fines since I will want to trade them in? Let’s hope so! Either that, or I can provide some proof of address. I’m sure I’ll procrastinate on that.
Have your read any of them? The first two I’ve seen in blogs constantly. So, because I’m a rebel, I cracked open the third first.
I thought that was a funny freckles quote. I have to admit that when I taught in the Dominican Republic, my students were quite outspoken about disliking my freckles — or as they called them “those dots” or “sprinkles.” Haha. I embrace them!
What the dogs do while I read. Seriously. They’re going to drool on the library books!!!
Uhhh.. speaking of drool.
MY NEW SHOES CAME TODAY!! I ordered these cute yellow pumps from UO as well as a kitten heel pair in back. Great piano teaching shoes, right? I even got Kevin to agree that I need to get some more shoes so they don’t wear out so quickly.
Anyhow, the dogs drooled on them while I was trying to take a picture. Typical. Boyd chewed my favorite nude pumps before I even wore them!! The dogs are a little on my nerves today. Just a tad!!
That’s seriously what they did! Freaks.
I squeezed in some yoga this morning — my hip was feeling a little off after yesterday’s long run. Such a little grandmother!
Yoga for Runners from the BeFit YouTube channel. That channel RULES! It even has full-length Jillian videos!
I can’t BELIEVE Pippa did this:
That’s gotta be a first!!!!! Usually she’s all up in my yoga mat. I guess barking at the neighbor dog is really starting to wear her out!
Today’s lunch (planned for leftovers later) was PaleOMG’s Smoky Bacon Chili. This time of year we always want to eat chili practically once a week!! But regular chili definitely makes me feel really bloated. So I’m not going all Paleo on you, but I wanted to try it. While I was cooking, I was trying to think of a word that was a cross between Paleo & Vegetarian. That’s what I’d be! Paleotarian? Vegepaleo? Commitmentphobe?
Verdict on the chili: SUPER GOOD! I put the ingredients into fitness pal and came up with 169 calories, 6g fat, 12g protein, 4g fiber per serving. Oh. I should say that instead of using the spices in the recipe, I used the Simply Organic Spicy Chili Mix. Because I felt like it.
Tonight’s dinner, I’m not so proud of. I ate Pirate’s Booty. And that’s about it. I’m not sure how it happened. I was trying to get some business work done… and I just started eating.. most of a bag! Oops!! I’ll count that as 4 servings. Still managed to stay within my boot camp calorie goal. But I don’t think Candice (the RD) would be too impressed by that choice!!
When’s the last time you went to the library? Fun fact, this is my THIRD library card since starting this blog – Winona, Minnesota (7/9/11) and Greenwood Village/Arapahoe Public Library (8/25/11). Good thing I have a blog to document things like that!!
Last pair of new shoes? I think Pippa needs some snowshoes next!
