Hi! How was your day!?
Thursday is my day with the most students. So it’s dress up day!
Fave fall outfit: my favorite J.Crew dress (similar) + my new UO shoes ($39!!!). The dress definitely came from the Factory Store. I was hesitant to but it at the time, but the cost-per-wear has made it worth it. I probably wore it once a week while I was working at the office. And it requires no other pieces of clothing except maybe tights. That should be factored into the cost-per-wear calculation.
Second favorite fall outfit. Just kidding. A student had to reschedule (boo) so that I meant I got to fit in a little longer run in the middle of the afternoon. It was FREEZING today, but I wanted to wear my new compression socks! Totally unnecessary for me to wear them today. But I had to try them on. I have to admit that they felt good immediately!
Nothing irritates Pippa more than when I take forever to get out the door to go running. Which is every day. I’m always looking at my phone or my computer — she’s not a fan.
Omg. WE MATCH!! The crossed paws & legs!!
Yeah. We probably sat in front of the mirror for a good five minutes taking pictures and texting them to the fortunate members of my dogs’ fan club. Don’t be jealous.
Want to know the other thing that REALLY irritates Pippa? Blowing on her ears. It drives her crazy! So, of course, I do it every single day. She gets me back by frequently licking my mouth when I least expect it.
Boyd J has a longer list of thing that annoy him, but #1 is definitely giving a playful little spanking. He’s not abused!!! Don’t jump to his defense! It’s just teasing. I’m one of SIX CHILDREN. And a middle child at that. I know how to find out what annoys people/dogs.. and then do it to them constantly. I find it irresistible to walk past him without giving him a little tap-tap.
Whenever I’m teasing Boyd J in this manner, my husband screams his moral support,”DON’T LET MOM GET TO YOU!!”
Haha.
Other things that irritate Boyd.
- Looking at him when he’s tired (I’m serious)
- The sound of my voice
- When I play videos of him growling on my phone.
- Kicking him out of bed. Even moving him a fraction of an inch is a huge battle! That furry bottom wants to stay planted!!!
- The smoke detector. I set it off. A lot!
- When I make him stop licking his paws in bed.
- Enrique Iglesias and any sort of dancing in the kitchen. Seriously.
A recipe for disaster… The tablecloth trick does NOT WORK!!! They’re not budging.
Oh. Although it’s probably the most FAQ on this blog — it does NOT annoy Boyd when we go running without him. He scurries to that front bedroom when I open the door to let him in before we leave. He likes a little peace and quiet away from the feisty females!!!
Pippa and I ran 4.25, and then I let the dogs run around while I practiced my double unders on the back patio. They learned very quickly to stay clear of the rope. 150 walking lunges up and down our sidewalk, and I called it a day!
Pippa is the nosiest neighbor EVER! She has discovered the prime spot for spying on our new neighbors. I just wish she was more diligent about reporting back to me!

She can really curl up into a tiny ball. Sigh. I love her.
My mom thinks it’s hilarious that I’m such a dog lover now since I was never crazy about our family dogs. But ever since moving to Denver… My students can even sense it. I had a student stay extra long last night so he could show me videos of his dog on his phone. :)
What annoys your pets? If you don’t know, find out!! Lol. You have to get back at them somehow for waking you up early and drooling on your shoes!
Do you wear compression socks? Today was my first time. Skinny Runner tricked me into it with her Garmin contest!
What clothing do you own with the lowest cost-per-wear? I actually wear my $14.99 Champion shorts soooo much. That’s probably it! And my $95 Warby Parkers.

Poor Boyd. He’s just misunderstood.
Fielder hates the word eyeboogers & I’m not even joking. Say the word & you can bet he’s ticked off for the rest of the day. He growls so much you might actually get scared of his little 12 pound frame. I think it stemmed from when he was a puppy & was always getting gross little eyeboogers. We’d dig them out, saying “Let me get your eyeboogers” & I think it ruined him. He’s also not a morning person so if one of us gets out of bed before the other & Fielder stays, he’s angry at you for getting out so don’t even THINK about petting him!
I am always entertained by the dog stories and pics! Tucker is impatient so he barks and barks if he has to wait to go out, eat, etc. Kostas gets annoyed when he’s not allowed in bed–he has perfected the sigh/har-umph! He also doesn’t like it when we grab his tail – he speeds up to try to get away from us.

My dog Lucy is the same way about blowing on her ears! So obviously my husband and I team up and both do it at the same time. She doesn’t run away, so she must like the game? That dress is cute city!

Boyd is hilarious, I love the looks he gives you. Hahah. My one cat gets really annoyed when you hold him down, he likes to be free I guess.

YES..PC socks are the best…my daughter just left wearing the same pink ones today and I have the black ones waiting for me later to run in.
Annoy the dogs? When I set their food bowl down and have them “wait” until I give the cue to eat…Frances (the older one often leaves a puddle of drool) and Rudy just keeps licking his chops..its funny.
i love my compression socks too! the pinker the better. hehe. And i swear our dogs are sisters. they act just the same and look the same!!
since i walk/bike to work, i can really wear down a pair of shoes well. and i usually get them at aldo, which brings cost per wear down to almost nothing!
After a hard workout or longer run, I’ll wear compression socks to bed that night. Cute, right? But they help me recover faster.
