Last time I ended up with pink gingham.
This time, I found polka dots and ruffles. No puffed sleeves, but I still think Anne Shirley would be proud. The problem with winter coats is that they are so drab!
It’s not always easy taking a pic with the dogs scampering around.
The good news? At least it’s water-repellent!
The bad news? The Macy’s lady forgot to take the ink tag off! We didn’t notice until the next day so we had to drive back to the store to get it removed! Booo!
But while we were there, we registered to vote!
At least I got a nice sticker out of it!
Just my husband — looking hot! Rocking the toggles.
Today’s WOD:
I did the Meg-inator from GPP.
For time:
15-16-17-18-19-20 reps of:
That’s 105 reps of each!! The thrusters were by far the hardest for me. I did them with 2 20lb kettlebells for the first 3 rounds, and 2 15lb kettlebells for the remainder. And it still took me over 30 minutes… Not sure precisely because I don’t think I stopped my watch on time! Too exhausted!
Just finished:
How to Love an American Man by Kristine Gasbarre.
I mostly loved it. Ugh!! I just want to read a book that I absolutely positively love and experience that giddy high afterwards! I so thought this was going to be it! Anyways, it was a sweet read and I couldn’t put it down, not even in the car on the way to the mall! The premise of the story is basically that a girl about my age is learning lessons about love from her grandmother. Totally adorable. But I wasn’t a fan of her boyfriends… and as it’s based on a true story, I wasn’t able to stalk her on the internet to find out what really happened in the end! Darn!
Made the pumpkin flax molasses waffles for dinner, and now we’re hanging out. I think Kevin deserves an extra day off after all his traveling, but no dice. He’s still super busy this week! But next week we’re taking a long vacation – sooo looking forward to that!
Do you buy practical or cute? I always choose cute. Even when it comes to running shoes which is sort of unwise.
What have you been up this weekend? Sleeping! Shopping, catching up with Kev, going to the gym, watching New Girl, and reading!

Practical shmactical, that coat is tooooo cuuuuute!
Love the coat! I always go for cute with the exception of one long coat I have that is more practical (cold winters walking across campus – this coat was much needed!)
I love love love you jacket! I usually go for practical. Living in NYC everyone seems to wear all black everything, so it’s sometimes hard to step out of the box. I also have a tough time finding cute jackets that fit me right because I’m so darn tall!
I wish I had your fashion sense. So jealous.
Ever since I became a student..again…I noticed that my wardrobe turned very very boring. I buy clothes that are comfy, loose, easy to throw on, etc. Sigh…This wasn’t always the case. What has become of me?
You look very cute! Love it!
I’m so frugal so I always go with practical. Love your new coat!
You should read I Never Promised you a Goodie Bag http://www.savethedate.com/goodiebag.html# Amazing true story.
Aw I love that coat! Psht with practical! Ruffles make life more fun! I am about to start the new JK Rowling book, I’m hoping that will give me the giddy reader high! Have you read it?
I love the new jacket! That is just adorable!
I always go for cute and then I end up freezing! I am trying to be better about thinking practical now. Cause no matter what, being cold stinks!
I always buy cute – even though it sometimes gets me in trouble!
that coat is adorable on you! the only thing I really spend my money on for clothes is sneakers for running
Such a cute coat for sure! I love it! And good for you for registering!!
for coats, i usuaslly buy practical but i think taht is just cuz i grew up in alaska and when it is 40 below it is so freezing you could care less what you look like (well not really, thank god for north face and columbia and that they make cute coats for extra cold weather!)
i LOVE that coat you bought though – soooo adorable. whenever i am looking for cute stuff like that i can never find it!
i always support waffles for dinner! cute coat. i have a ton of coats, and none of them are practical.
Thrusters are always a killer! Love that workout! I love the jacket! The ruffles are so cute! Who cares if it’s practical?!
Unfortunately, practical! I just bought a new winter parka – too puffy for my taste but it will be warm on those cold days when I’m walking to work through snowstorms!
Love the coat! I think I’m actually due for a new winter coat this year. I’ve been wearing a green coat I bought at Old Navy years ago for a while now! I always get lots of compliments on it… perhaps it’s cute and practical?!
Love the coat! Adorable. I tend to lean towards practical when buying coats and shoes . . . I guess I’ve learned I’d rather be comfortable or warm (or whatever is appropriate for the situation). I guess that’s why my wardrobe is so boring!
I am too practical….I always choose boring…one that I can wear out to shovel, one that works while driving in the car (no creeping up the back or in other words long over tush coat), and one that would sort of work to still go to church in.
And I found a goodie this year at Burlington Coat Factory for 69 only!
Love your coat, Corrie Anne!!
For the most part, running shoes are the only items which practicality trumps style factor…I am yet to find a cute look pair of running shoes! Love that coat- very chic!
