Snug!

This morning when I woke up and saw all the snow, I was so grateful that I work from home.

And then Pippa reminded me that I have a hyper dog, and I have to go outside anyways! I’m going to be spending a LOT MORE time outdoors this winter. Brrr….

It was too cold to just walk… so we starting jogging. The string came out of my Lulu hoody last winter so the hood doesn’t stay up. Wah!! We always meant to fix it, but I think the string was misplaced in the move. I hate it when that happens! I’m no good with the safety pin trick.

Eventually we warmed up, and ended up doing one our favorite 3-mile loops. I almost seriously wiped out because a huge bump in the sidewalk was covered by leaves. Thankfully, Pippa waited up, and I caught myself!

Boyd wants you to know that he REALLY loves the snow too. We actually have a really hard time getting him to come inside when there’s snow on the ground. Of course, last night it was because he was gnawing on a cardboard box…

Pippa and I spent the remainder of the afternoon in bed with my Macbook and a big stack of books – thanks to some cancellations. Snug as two bugs in a rug! Some of the schools are on fall break this week so some of my students are out of town, and some are in Mexico (good timing!!).

Apparently tonight is a major night for sports fans (not me!). Because Kevin is super nice and puts up with all my crazy plans, we decided to return to Fire on the Mountain for “date night” so he could watch the Vikings and the World Series. They have the best sweet potato fries! I just looked at my phone the whole time and wished I had a book. I always wonder why it’s socially acceptable to watch tv at restaurants but not read books. Life is rough. Maybe if I had a Kindle!

More chocolate tonight.

And more snow.

Oh my. Time to online shop for some more warm clothes. I see Moosejaw came out with some new jackets. I need to check out their store in Boulder sometime soon!

Do you like to watch any sports? Just the Olympics! And I like to go to Rockies games, but I wouldn’t really watch them on tv. Ever.

Run outside in the snow or retreat to gym? Well, GYM!!! Kevin blames me for training Pippa to enjoy physical activity. I should take a video of her when she’s trying to get me to tak her out. She’s incorrigible!

  1. I would love to hold a steaming hot cup of coffee and walk down the streets that are freezing cold with snow. jealous.

  2. Snow!? Already? They’ve predicted snow for Ohio next Tuesday or Wednesday but I wish that fall weather would stay a bit longer before the snow starts to come!

  3. Oh my gracious, I can’t imagine what I’d do if it were SNOWING here in October, haha! It just hit 60 today (80 yesterday) after a cold front came in and I am freezing, haha! Stay warm, girl!

    I can’t believe you don’t have a Kindle yet! ;)

  5. Definitely the gym/indoor track for winter running. I love taking the dogs out on the lake when it’s cold enough…they run around and I snow-shoe. It’s a really touch leg and cardio workout.

My dogs LOVE the snow!! It’s so funny to watch them. unfortunately it did not snow at all here last year- but everyone is freaking out that we’re supposed to have a crazy snow-filled winter this year. Guess we’ll wait and see!
Greg and I were talking about going to a Broncos game in a few weeks, since they’ll be at home when we’re there… I LOVE going to Rockies games- that stadium is one of my faves! And yeah- I like football and baseball, but I’m not crazy about it (can kind of take it or leave it- I used to be insanely obsessed with the Red Sox- but not so much any more)

  7. gah I am dreading the first snow here, glad you have puppies to entertain you through it

I will run outside if the sidewalks are clear. Temps below 20 are my threshold. If it’s below twenty and icy then I am in the gym. But, normally my body warms up so fast running that it doesn’t matter. Plus the winters are long here and it would be a lot of inside running.

  9. I use 40 degrees as my threshold. Anything colder than that and Im on the treadmill!

So envious that you get to stay snugged away at home…fortunately we don’t have weather like that quite yet in Oklahoma, but when we do, I won’t want to drag myself to school:P Love that first picture…so beautiful!

That picture of you and Pippa is adorable! You look so cozy! Take your hoodie to Lulu and they might be able to fix the string. They’re usually pretty good about fixing their clothes.

i love how he think he’s a lap dog. Yes, my lab does that too! and how is it snowing? it was 85F here!

  13. Gah! Look at that snow.

lol. I sat and read blogs last night as my husband watched the Viking game–he’s a die hard fan.

I went to the Moosejaw store in Boulder this summer–it was really nice. Right near a Lululemon, too, if I remember correctly. :) Happy Friday!

  14. Hehe cute pup pics…my dog loves to sit on my lap while I type too!
