I experimented with a hummus pizza for dinner tonight!
I wish I would have had a few tomatoes, but it turned out great with a little avocado sliced on top!
Boyd was a very bad boy today. This is how I found him when I got back from running with Pippa. I think he was punishing me for leaving the bedroom closed so he couldn’t jump in bed!! Usually he doesn’t move a muscle when I’m running with Pippa.
His consequence was that he had to run a mile with me outside in the cold.
I know he could sense my annoyance with him because he was even more stubborn than normal about wearing the gentle leader. I pretty much had to drag him the entire mile! I didn’t want to walk because the wind was blowing snow around like crazy!! Brrrrr!!!
So I’ve been doing a lot of the 2010 Spartacus workout lately – have you ever tried it? It’s actually surprisingly brutal.
I’ve done it probably 4x now, but I keep forgetting to bring a notebook or something to track my reps! I’ve been doing mostly this version using kettlebells, but I can’t quite manage renegade rows with kettlebells.
And guess what! All of a sudden I can do push-ups!!!! I’ve never been able to do a push-up on my toes — in my life?! I know, that’s kind of embarrassing, but I really started working out as a cardio queen so I guess it’s not that shocking. I’ve been practicing them every day since I discovered I could do one. I can string together about 3 before they start to get snake-y!! But I’m so happy!!!!! I think lifting (more or less) heavy kettlebells is what got me there. Yay!!!
I managed to cobble together some serious mileage today!! 3.1 with the dogs, and then I ran 2 5ks in a row at the gym. The first I tried to keep a decent pace, and the second I jogged for 3 minutes followed by a 45 second sprint. I need to sign up for a race so I can get a little more committed with my running — I’ve been seriously slacking since the half marathon. How to juggle running, yoga, and strength training??
What strength training (or other) move do you struggle with? Happy with my breakthrough with push-ups. Still working on double unders, and don’t even get me started on pull-ups!
Have you ever tried hummus or another sauce on pizza? This vegan version looks amazing. I also want to try a cold hummus pizza.
